Welcome back to the #UCP gaslighting extravaganza—here we have our premier using a flawed study to perpetuate his plan; let’s have a look shall we?

First, if you haven’t read any actual scientific/research based analyses of the impacts of SCS, maybe refer to the experts.

This thread by Dr. Hyshka will tell you everything you need to know.
Next, why is this government so adamant on highlighting negative reports, when positive ones are willfully ignored.

'What we've seen is a reduction in crime severity in and around the supervised consumption sites as well'

@jkenney isn’t tweeting this?

Now let’s talk about this study coming out of Lethbridge—first and foremost, this is a study based on the perceptions of a problem.

These measurements are anecdotal at best.
Next, the study even states that it wasn’t designed to decide whether Lethbridge should have an SCS or not.

We wonder if the researcher knew what the premier’s plan was for this study?
Looking at the end of the report we see a myriad of limitations that make the findings problematic at best.

“Need objective measures that are not biased”...no shit?
The researcher notes these problems may be attributed to lack of services. How interesting?

#Lethbridge city council has been calling for help from the province but new money that was promised has been frozen.

@SPhillipsAB knows about this.

These studies tell us one important thing—the sites are not the cause of every social inequity that exists, nor were they implemented to solve them all. They are one piece of a broader strategy.

This government however, is not committed to addressing poverty and homelessness.
They are committed to stranding municipalities who are asking for help in addressing the social determinants of health. Then they can blame all of the problems on consumption sites and rationalize their decision to close them down.
