2020 brings critical Presidential and Senate elections.
It's also our last chance to build progressive power in state legislatures ahead of 2021 #redistricting.

We've identified 10 states with the biggest 2020 opps for our model of progressive change.

We're channeling our energy in 2020 toward progressive candidates in these 10 states.

Each of these fits one of our strategic buckets: Blue Flips, Blue Holds, Blue Inroads.

We've focused on states where the state legislature controls redistricting.

In 2020, we're also focusing on states with important U.S. Senate or congressional races, and swing states with crucial Electoral College votes.

Because investing locally in blue voter outreach also helps the top of the ticket.

Minnesota has one of the best state legislative opportunities for 2020.

The MN Senate is just two seats away from flipping blue, which would give Democrats a trifecta in the state (control of both legislative chambers and the governorship). #BlueWave2020

Flipping the Texas House would be a huge victory for #BlueWave2020.

Dems only needs to flip 9 of 150 seats to flip the chamber. Dems flipped 12 seats in 2018.

Flipping this chamber would break a Republican trifecta and prevent further gerrymandering.

In 2018, Dems broke a Republican trifecta in Michigan by electing Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and broke a Republican supermajority in the MI Senate.

Now the MI House is just 4 seats from flipping. Momentum is on our side.

North Carolina is a state where the maps have been drawn to suppress Dem voters.

In 2018, Dem candidates for NC House got 51% of the vote, but only 45% of the seats.

But we're only 5 Senate seats and 6 House seats from flipping before maps are redrawn.

In Arizona, Dems only need to win 3 Senate seats and 2 House seats to flip each chamber and break a Republican trifecta.

It's absolutely possible. In 2018, Democrats won a hotly contested federal Senate race and flipped 4 AZ House seats.

Pennsylvania is ripe for the flipping this year.

In 2018, Democrats broke a Republican supermajority in the Senate and flipped a dozen State House seats.

To flip both chambers, Dems only need to win 4 Senate seats and 9 House seats.

The Colorado Senate was a Sister District Blue Flip in 2018.

Since then, the GOP has been absolutely relentless in its quest to recall Dem State Senators and recapture power by any means necessary.

We need to protect the chamber and the trifecta in 2020.

Things are moving in Georgia.

In 2018, Dems flipped 11 seats in the House and 2 in the Senate in 2018, despite gerrymandering and voter suppression.

Now is our last chance to make additional inroads into the legislature before maps are redrawn in 2021.

Florida.

Even though the maps in FL are badly gerrymandered (with the State Senate map losing a legal challenge and having to be redrawn in 2015), Florida's swing nature and recent close elections highlight the massive opportunity there. #BlueWave2020

In Wisconsin, the GOP are the poster-boys for gerrymandering.

Just 2 years ago, because of the maps famously drawn by the WI GOP in 2010, Dems received 54% of the vote for State Assembly, but won only 36% of the seats.
