A beautiful African people. African-Bahamians were the first African-descended settlers in Miami, with them they brought home structures to the neighborhoods they settled, such as Coconut Grove you can still see today.

West Coconut Grove is a Bahamian enclave & African-American neighborhood in Miami that's holding on fighting against gentrification. Now referred to as "the West Grove" or "the Black Grove". African-Bahamians & Southern African-Americans came together and became Black Miamians.
All throughout Black Miami you'll find Bahamian cultural remnants like conch you can buy on the streets.
Not only Miami, Afro-Bahamians spread over Black SouthFL. In the heart of Black Ft. Lauderdale, Sistrunk, which is in Broward County to the north of Miami-Dade County, I found a Bahamian restaurant there too. The culture often stays alive through the food. sunny.org/multicultural-… Image
When I visited Nassau, it felt just like Black SouthFL. I felt at home. The Bahamas is flat like South FL too. Warm weather & palm trees. Bahamas has prettier beaches and water though! Educulture Bahamas the Junkanoo Museum in Nassau
