God help me if I hear someone say one more time that Israel is the "only democracy in the Middle East." Not only is saying such a thing the laziest of clichés; it's also factually wrong. Tunisia is a democracy, and it's in the Middle East

For the silly folk intent on making the pedantic point that Tunisia isn't in the Middle East, well, you're wrong. Tunisia is considered part of the Middle East by people who actually know the Middle East—and study it for a living, i.e. see here:
I also love it when people who have never lived in the Middle East, studied the Middle East, or even care all that much about the Middle East tell someone of Middle Eastern origin where their region is "geographically located," as if they're providing a service for humankind
