Lamar Alexander is a no. There will be no witnesses. Who cares. This trial is a MAJOR LOSS for Trump because it won't boost his pathetic 2020 poll numbers. Bolton will do TV promos soon anyway.

The only damage here: the fatalists will waste two weeks crying instead of fighting.

After the fatalists spend the next two weeks crying and moping and telling the rest of us that Trump has won and the world is over, they'll exhaust themselves, and we'll get back to resisting. Trump's 2020 odds are worse than ever. But damn the fatalists for costing us two weeks.

Since the day impeachment started, we've all known he would be acquitted, and most of us have understood that it's not a victory for Trump. Don't let the doomsday pundits on TV psych you into suddenly believing this is somehow a loss for the resistance. It's a loss for Trump.

The ONLY WAY this trial would have been a win for Trump is if it had caused his pathetic approval rating to go up, because at his current numbers, he's not even in contention for 2020. He blew it with a defense aimed solely at his base. Massive loss for him.

By the way, anyone who calls me an "optimist" gets blocked. Seriously, come on. I'm the biggest cynic I know. I just base my realism on evidence, logic, and facts. As opposed to the fatalists, who hallucinate doomsday fantasies all day and are in need of psychological help.

The best thing you can do for yourself right now is to put down the MSNBC/CNN crack pipe for the next week. They're going to kick their histrionic fatalism into overdrive, so try to scare you into staying glued to the TV. Turn that shit off, at least this week. It's bad for ya.

The bottom line: we're winning. Trump's approval rating is the ONLY number that matters, and that number tells us we're on the winning path for 2020. But we have to keep at it.

So do you want to whine, or do you want to win?
