Can we talk about this for a second?
This is really lovely and exciting and a privilege.
I appreciate the acknowledgment of hard work and energy.
And- I've had a really tough few months.
The burnout is real. 1/
I had a hard pregnancy.
Then the baby didn't sleep.
I kept thinking, if I can just sleep, everything will be fixed.
Sleep is better. But everything isn't fixed.

Apparently an early/mid-career crisis is very developmentally normal at this point. (Reassuring.)
It started to feel like all the decisions I thought were purposeful, were passive.
What of all of this did I actually mean to choose to do and be?

I think many people in my institution can’t wrap their heads around my role in “Change the Outcome.”
But if the child died, we failed. End of story, right?
No.

If the child died surrounded by unnecessary noise, we failed.
If the child died without dignity, we failed.
If the family did not stay after the death as long as they would have liked, because of our systems of care, we failed.
2/
If the parents did not have the opportunity to do legacy work in an anticipated death, we failed.
If the family does not get the best bereavement care posssible, we failed.
If the child did not die in the preferred location, we failed.

Finally a media outlet that has listened to us -this piece doesn't carry all detail/info but it does finally out Patrick Curran who is racist spokesperson/organiser of #Oughterard campaign & who has worked closely with far-right agitators -Curran is STILL involved in the campaign
#Oughterard still have lots of work to do weeding out ties to far-right & racists The fact that far-right were heavily involved in #Oughterard from get go is a huge wake up call to this country. The racism, Islamophobia & far-right prop that was spewed EVERYWHERE was frightening!
The far-right were also involved in #Lisdoonvarna, #Moville, #Rooskey etc.. They latch on to a few racist, like minded locals and drive the narrative. Anyone who criticises them or calls them out, is accused of calling the whole village or town racist - similar tactics everywhere
