NPR has been notified, Cabinet approved Rs 3,941 crore for NPR

Collection of data for NPR will start from 1st April.

It will just need a notification to convert NPR into NRC.
Once NRC is notified,Jr level executive officer wl hv power to verify all data &info collected during NPR, prepare a list of "Doubtful citizens" & issue them notice to prove citizenship

NOT wrong to say they are building the foundatn for NRC

Or

NRC work wl start from 1stApril

THE worst decision of Supreme Court in 2019 was NOT taking NRC to its logical conclusion. Modus operandi of SC was to complete NRC in timebound manner

BUT after Final List,SC didn't set any time frame to issue National ID card to includes & rejection order to19L excludes
NRC excludes are living in uncertainty. Almost every1 hav docs, they want to challenge rejection order to clear thr names. But even after 5months NO reasons hav been given to them explaining their exclusion. They are forced to live with stigma where their CITIZENSHIP IS UNCERTAIN
Hon'ble Supreme Court is responsible for this uncertainty. So much hurry to publish the Final list, what happened after publication? The excluded people deserves Justice..

Justice delayed is Justice denied!

NPR wl collect ONLY info/particulars abt you&family. NO documents

Acc to CitizenshipRules,2003, particulars collected during NPR wl be verified/scrutinized by Local Registrar who can mark anyone as DOUBTFUL CITIZEN even B4 checking docs

You wl be informed only after verificatn
NPR might not make any list of doubtful. BUT NRC will make, based on information collected during NPR

The existing Citizenship (Registration of Citizens and Issue of National Identity Cards) Rules, 2003 is draconian. This is more dangerous than POTA and UAPA
If Local Registrar can doubt your citizenship only based on information/particulars collected during NPR &

IF any person any file objection against your citizenship. 2003 Rules is indeed dangerous than POTA & UAPA

No cause of action was required to file objection in Assam NRC

I hope this govt realize that nationwide NRC is NOT an option. You can't ask entire nation to queue up to prove citizenship. Unimaginable harassment apart, There is NOTHING more humiliating than to be asked to prove citizenship in your own country.
You must have heard many stories of harassment and even suicide because of NRC. Let me tell you how people felt humiliated in the NRC exercise in Assam

After the final Draft of NRC was published, 40 lacs excluded people were asked to submit their biometric details
I got a call from a 77 years old Bengali Hindu Retd Mathematics professor. (He spoke polished English, later when I met him I got to know he is a voracious reader.)

He called me in choked voice and asked if I could help him as he don't want to submit his biometrics.

A spot near their usual stomping grounds is selected
A circular area is fenced off with 1 or 2 points of entry & egress
Which can be closed with trapdoors
Corn or a similar bait is placed here for the boars to feast on

The ruling Congress government in Punjab has passed a resolution in the State Assembly demanding scrapping of the controversial CAA. Hope all the states which ruled by anti BJP govt no matter who is @INCIndia or @asadowaisi 's alliance party should pass such resolution.
And not to make any type of contradiction between us unlike @NitishKumar who voted to support CAA in parliament and issued the notification of NPR

NPR will be for everyone, so saying that only Muslims will be affected is not true
In #Assam 75% of 19 lakh, who were excluded from the final list were non muslims

These 19 lakh failed to prove their Citizenship of India

Lets assume they all are illegal immigrants and they should be thrown out of India

But where can you throw them away?

They don't have proof of where they came from

Under which law can you send them to Pakistan,Bangladesh or Afghanistan?

There's no such law to deport them

Those who don't have any papers to prove their country of origin don't fall under 'Illegal Immigrant'

Who are they?
They are Stateless people

Whose responsibility are they?
They are responsibility of the State (Country) where they are identified, Food & Shelter

We don’t need Amit Shah to tell us whether or not NPR will lead to the NRC/NRIC.

It’s there in the rules notified by the Vajpayee govt in 2003. This is the law of the land. Read it for yourself.
