It was 19th January, 2020- 30th Anniversary of #KashmiriHinduExodus when the PR companies geared up to promote #Shikara on SM with the filmmakers asking fellow Kashmiri Pandit’s to record videos with a dialogue from the movie and use #HumWapasAayenge

The dialogue ‘Haji Saab’ in these short videos on SM reeked opportunism by the filmmakers to promote #Shikara and unfortunately many KP’s fell for it. It was like trivialising the entire genocide by none other than the victims themselves. #HumWapasAayenge

@rahulpandita the writer of the movie #Shikara says he has an unsaid understanding with his Muslim friends to refrain from discussing the 1990 #KashmiriHinduExodus! Are you serious? What a hypocrite? How low can you sink just to promote your movie?

@VVCFilms neither had the guts nor did he ever want to potray the real story of KP’s. Hence he changed the tagline of #Shikara from 'The Untold Story of Kashmiri Pandits' to 'A Timeless Love Story in the worst of times’. So, PR done, popularity gained from KP’s & then dumped it!

Today #Shikara released, which aims to be a sheer propaganda to whitewash the terror unleashed on KP’s by Radical Islamists. The filmmakers have cleverly pushed in a love story when the reality is about mass rapes, murders, mental and physical torture.

After 30 years Kashmiri Pandit’s got a change to speak on #KashmiriHinduExodus, people wanted to hear the stories & watch the harsh reality, not some secular garbage packaged with a love story. Alas a chance missed!

In this video, @ResearchBharat is crying & venting her frustration about how the movie fails to show the real exodus instead shows secularism to which @VVCFilms mocks ‘Aapke liye Sequel 2 banayenge’ & that ‘Truth has two sides to it’. #ShikaraMovieReview

@VVCFilms adds ‘Every truth has different ways to look at it. Kisiko chai ka nasha zyada aata hai kisiko doodh ka. Chai chai rehti hai’. No! There are no two sides here, there is just one side- Radical Islamists killed KP’s and asked them to either convert, flee or die. Period.

Bollywood is known for appeasing a particular community and the film maker @VVCFilms is a master at it with movies like Mission Kashmir, P.K. and Sanju. The writer is no less when it comes to secularism. #Shikara #ShikaraMovieReview @AnupamPKher @vivekagnihotri

To those promoting the movie, we voted BJP to power with 303 in 2019 after reading their Manifesto & knowing well that if someone had the guts to remove Article 370 then it was BJP & PM @narendramodi. This was our redemption for the mistakes we made in the 90’s and thereafter.

Kindly don’t make us feel guilty anymore. If someone needs to apologise today for everything that Kashmiris Pandits have been through and are still going through, it’s the Congress Party, Mufti’s, Abdullah’s, leftists, liberals and most importantly Bollywood! @dharmicverangna
