Government always gets the blame. In December, the power company sent out some workers to replace this transformer junction that is buried underground right outside my apartment. They worked a few days, covered it with wood, and took off for Christmas, etc.
Finally the day after MLK Day, they came back. They worked three hours. Then they left a piece of wood covering everything. Another long hiatus. Last Thursday, they came out and finally filled it all in and replaced the dirt, the and landscaping. When they finished, they walked
around, putting a power outage notice on every door saying the power would be out today. So, at 8 AM they began digging back down and uncovering that hole they covered up on Thursday. Yes, undoing everything they did on Thursday
Something they must have known because they gave out the notice Thursday. It took them 3 hours to get back to where they were before Thursday. They just left. But around 11, someone came by with some flowers, noticed they were finally working on it. I explained they had cleaned
it all up on Thursday - so I thought it was finally done, but then uncovered it all again. IT is so inane. She responds, well what do you expect from government employees. I said, they're not government employees. They work for the power company.
She didn't believe me. She somehow got the idea that all the folks who work on road crews, power maintenance, garbage collection, etc. were all government employees.
