Right now in NY, Bill de Blasio has chosen to align himself w/ white supremacists, police, prosecutors GOP lawmakers & his Trump-supporting NYPD Chief, to fearmonger & lie to kill modest weeks old bail reform & give judges *more* discretion to jail people. Unearned praise.
For weeks, @NYCMayor has been out fighting against decades long efforts just weeks after reform began. Advocating to give judges more power than ever before to jail Black & Brown people. Peddling debunked lies by the NYPD. Favoring procarceral interest over community. 
@NYCMayor Within just a couple weeks the NYPD Commissioner was out cherry-picking crime data. Bipartisan @verainstitute came out with a scathing report slamming the inaccuracy & fearmongering: “His selective use of shortrun statistics doesn’t support this statement.” But Mayor supports it.
