Ukraine's exports in 2019 were $50.1 bn +5.8% and its imports $60.8 bn +6.3%.

Ukraine's export markets have diversified, 41.5% of total exports goes to EU, but the biggest are:
1. China 7.2%
2. Poland! 6.6%
3. Russia - only 6.5% - used to be one third
4. Turkey 5.2%
5. Italy 4.8%

7. Egypt 4.5%
8. India 4.0%

Trump's speech last night unleashed complete financial panic. Financial crashes have a clear logic. The next step is likely to be major bankruptcies. The natural candidates are holiday industries & airlines, but failures are often surprising.
After a few major bankruptcies, the world is likely to face a liquidity freeze as after the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy on September 15, 2008. A liquidity freeze characteristically hits countries in the periphery with their own currencies, which will collapse.
To bring some stability to a world in financial panic, two factors are required:
1. International political cooperation and
2. Vast amounts of government liquidity.

The impact on the Russian economy of the falling oil prices is likely to be serious and lasting. In 2008, when the oil price fell to $32 per barrel, the Russian stock market fell by 80 percent in dollar terms in the course of half a year. The Russian stock market never recovered.
This time a RTS fall of 50 percent would be natural. In 2008, Russia’s GDP slumped by 8 percent, and a decline of several percent seems likely this year.
Russia’s GDP stood at $1.65 trillion before this calamity. As the ruble usually falls with the oil price, Russia’s dollar GDP is likely to plunge to some $1 trillion, which will reduce Russia’s international leverage.

I just arrived at Washington Dulles Airport after one week in Ukraine, flying via Istanbul with excellent Turkish Airlines. The Kyiv & Istanbul airports are impeccably clean, while Dulles is pretty dirty. In Kyiv all passengers were checked for temperature, at Dulles no measure.
Just listened to some CNN reporter who claimed that doctors would advise young people a little sick with the Corona virus to go home and live as usual, conspicuously not caring about the risk of contagion in the community. What a civic irresponsibility! & the US government?!
As almost all other countries, the US needs to start taking #COVID19 seriously! Is this a serious country or just a spin factory?

Meanwhile far-right groups have led a much smaller counter-protest, a "march for traditional values," wearing masks to conceal their identities.

A report (in Ukrainian) from @HromadskeUA: estimated 2,000 marchers, 500 in the far-right counter-protest march; some far-right marchers threw eggs at pride march participants. No other major incidents reported.

Zelensky rolls out slick video to say he'll debate Poroshenko. But he wants it held at Olympic stadium with all TV stations & journalists able to attend. Then takes this jab: "You thought I'd run and hide...No, I'm not you in 2014. I accept the challenge."
Zelensky has given Poroshenko 24 hours to respond and is running a countdown clock on the Facebook page of his campaign.
BTW, the reference to Poroshenko in 2014 is about him refusing to debate Tymoshenko in that year's snap presidential election.

Investigative experiments on massacre site & forensic examinations are not completed 5 years after the Maidan masssacre. It is more surprising that there are still intelligent people in Ukraine & the West who fail to see real reason for the investigation failure & stonewalling.
And investigative experiments cannot be conducted because in the middle of winter they erected metal fences for #Maidan massacre memorial construction. This memorial would completely change the landscape. This is literal cover-up of the massacre evidence. hromadske.ua/posts/na-insti…

Essentially what happened is Ukraine tried to send 3 naval ships into the shared Azov Sea through the Kerch Strait, which is spanned by the Crimean bridge. Russia rammed one and later opened fire on another. It's closed traffic through the Kerch Strait rferl.org/a/ukraine-russ…
