The rehabilitation of Saud al Qahtani is a bizarre thing to behold. Trending hashtags expressing support, and now a song praising him and protesting his innocence (his guilt being a product of Qatari media of course). I expect he will be back on Twitter soon enough...
Remember Saud al Qahtani was banned from Twitter for platform manipulation. While the Saudi authorities may wish to attribute any smear on al Qahtani's name to outside forces, I am not sure how they will try and explain off the Twitter ban. Iranians manipulating his account?
Next time I'm accused of being involved in the dismembering of a journalist remind me to write a poem exonerating myself and get influencers to post it. Cheers guys.

[Disinfo Thread]. This one is the #coronavirus. Specifically, it refers to the fake news story from the sketchy news portal "MCM News", which tweeted yesterday (29th Feb) that the Vatican confirmed that the Pope and two of his aides had coronovirus. Story relies on a fabricated
2/ statement from the Vatican that does not exist. It is clearly malicious. I did a cursory analysis and found that the link has been tweeted or retweeted or mentioned around 2,541 times. That's a heck of a lot (Bear in mind that's just a search for Tweets sharing the URL)
3/ According to irumble, the first person to share the link on Twitter was the account below, which appears to mainly tweet in Chinese. Almost all the accounts sharing the link were not verified, except about 3, one of whom raised questions about the veracity of the source. One

The BBC has, as usual, covered the bullzoding of a dead Palestinian with it's now customary bias. It frames the whole piece as an Israeli "response" to "rocket fire". It prioritises the firing of rockets from Gaza into southern Israel- putting it in the second paragraph
It blows my mind that the headline is about the rocket attacks whereas the incident involving the bulldozing of a corpse is assigned to the "hostilities escalated". Even the New York Times, oft criticised for its somtimes sympathetic stance towards the Occupation, decided to
lead in with the horrific bulldozing incident. The New York Times clearly emphasizes the hugely provocative incident as the proximate cause and worthy of inclusion in the headline

The Saudis are covering up this murder by sentencing low level thugs. We demand justice.

To answer these questions, it is important to realize that MBS foreign policy has changed since the beginning of 2019; I would say to a wiser direction. This is mainly attributed to the important changes in MBS's inner circle and close advisers.
Saud Al-Qahtani and Turki Al-Sheikh enjoyed unrestricted access to MBS. Their main focus was Qatar where they used any means possible to contempt and attack Qatari leadership after the breakout of the GCC Crisis in June 2017.

It's been over 24 hours since I tweeted this, about Saud Al Qahtani's fate. Many fine journalists have been on it since. There's been no official confirmation, but perhaps more importantly for me, no refutation either. At this point I'm choosing to post a thread with what I know:
Yesterday morning I received news that Saud Al Qahtani (SQ) had been poisoned to death by Mohammad bin Salman. The source is well placed and has been consistently reliable for nearly a year. I cannot publicly reveal anything else about this source.
In the course of yesterday I came to know that at least two other persons had received the same information, although in a different format. Both of these persons are accomplished professionals. I cannot confirm whether their source is the same as mine.
