#Sahel: Today, #JNIM released the video "If they fight you, fight them". It's been almost three years since JNIM released their last full-length video with combat footage, namely "And the Battle Continues".
#Sahel: This could be explained by several factors: First, the focus has been on the political line; second, JNIM's official media presence has declined significantly, and this is against the backdrop of several key media figures (in #Algeria and #Mali) being killed
#Sahel: The decline is particularly relevant when compared to #ISGS, which received major boost from its formal integration into #IslamicState's organizational infrastructure & media apparatus. However, this last video marks the effective recovery of #JNIM media wing Al-Zallaqa.

Sergey Soygu, Russian defence minister, has subbed #America like eight times in his speech. FTT, he's right. America has lost the war in #Afghanistan.

"#Africa is of particular concern because our Western partners have not allowed them to stabilise economically."

Is he right? Image
He just reminded us that the Soviet Union supported many liberation movements with #Africa, and has offered a hand of friendship.

P.S I hate it when they (and they're all guilty of this) of talking of Africa as a country.
Another direct sub: "we will sign agreements with our African friends without imposing our ways on you like our Western partners do."

the Trans-Sahara developement project. #Algeria has allocated 300 billion DZD (2.6 Billion USD) in this massive economic project that connects Algeria and Tunisia to the rest of Africa. project aimed at Economic growth, Jobs. However this project also faces risks mostly security
Algeria has condemned strongly the events in Mali yesterday describing it as a attempted coup d'etat. its not good for a regime change in countries where a massive investment project is present. Does not exactly grow confidence and Algeria wants to protect its investments
Investments that were made regionally both short and long term. Many projects were started/resumed after years of stalling from the previous administration in order to solidify Algeria position as a "regional power" in North Africa and the Sahel region.

Today's #MiddleEast and #Ethiopia #HornOfAfrica rain forecasts follow in the thread below.
In the animation above you can see a flow of clouds from Sudan to Oman. This flow actually originates to the South West in the Central African Republic. Here you see the CAR to Khartoum leg of the journey.

#Ahmadiyya #FridaySermon #16thApril2021

***The summary below is not official and may therefore contain errors and inaccuracies!!!***

Huzoor began the sermon by reciting verses from the Holy #Quran which relate to the month of #Ramadan and the act of fasting, and he then....
... presented their #Urdu translation.

Huzoor said that merely being alive during this holy month, or merely going through it, or merely doing only Suhoor and Iftaar, are not enough, and neither are these the purposes of #Ramadan. Its significance, in terms of spirituality,...
... runs much deeper than that. Good and righteous deeds, especially prayers, are most accepted by Allah in this month, and Huzoor also cited a verse of the Holy #Quran which mentions of Allah being near His servants and Him hearing our prayers.

Huzoor then presented passages...

#Algeria #Niger #Algier #migrants

The number of deportations of migrants from Algeria has increased dramatically in the past few weeks. Many of the people are brought in trucks to the border with Niger - and then simply abandoned in the Sahara.
Ivorian migrants complained to the human rights organization Human Rights Watch (HRW) that Algerian soldiers had even stolen their clothes. Thousands of migrants have been brought to Niger since the first wave of the corona pandemic weakened somewhat in the region.
The neighboring country is one of the most important transit countries on the way to Europe. Every week the Alarme Phone Sahara initiative, to which several aid organizations have joined forces, corrects the numbers upwards.

Thousands of Algerians try to cross to Europe, even though they face high fines. Within a week, the Algerian authorities picked up more than 750 migrants and recovered three bodies from the Mediterranean.
As the Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday, several boats with 755 migrants were picked up off the Algerian coast from Sunday to Friday. On Monday the ministry had already announced that ten people had drowned and 485 migrants had been arrested in the previous days.
The majority of migrants who travel to Europe from Algeria are Algerian citizens. Despite a law from 2009 that provides for sentences of up to six months in prison for illegal emigrants, thousands of mostly young Algerians are making the dangerous journey.

🆘This morning, #AlarmPhone was alerted by some relatives about a boat with ~10 persons onboard, which departed on Monday night from Bab El Oued, in #Algeria. We informed authorities today at 3:20pm. @salvamentogov, the launch of a rescue operation is urgently needed!
🔴 WHERE ARE THEY?

No news concerning ~10 people in distress who left #Algeria on 21 September. We fear that they will have to survive a 4th night at sea. Relatives say they are on a white and blue wooden boat. @salvamentogob believe they are not in Spanish SAR zone yet.
Relatives keep calling us - they lost contact with their loved ones since Monday night. After we alerted authorities almost 24h ago, still no search and rescue in sight. We strongly ask @salvamentogob to search for them! We hope they are still alive.
