Maybe the most powerful moment I’ve seen from Biden this cycle at CNN town hall answering pastor who says he remembers him and Obama’s visiting. An emotion Biden, wiping away tears says he came back the next day for Sunday service because his son Beau had died and he needed hope.
Biden says people forget after Charleston church shooting, the parishioners forgave the shooter, calls it the ultimate act of Christian forgiveness. Says when his wife and daughter were killed and son died he had to find a purpose. “When my son Beau died, he was my soul.”
Biden was asked about how his faith informs who he is so between that and the pastor thanking him for coming after the shooting, that’s why Biden got so personal.
