BTW the maximum teacher salary in AB quoted above is made up of $97,676 in cash +$11,672 in employer pension contributions + $6,837 benefits. Why don't we check the Legislative Assembly's website to check the MLA pay. #ABLeg

MLA Indemnity $120,936.00

Which is cash pay. Why is there no cost of benefits? Or cost of the (expensive) MLA retirement plan? Hmm. #ABLeg #hidingsomething #disclosure
My best estimate is that a back bencher also takes home $17,000 in employer made RRSP contributions and $11,000 in benifits. #ABLeg Which totals up to $148,936.

Which means every MLA makes at least $148,936 in total comp, with many making much more.
It is a shame that the Leg Assembly provides no details of the MLA retirement plan or benefits on the remuneration page. It seems intentionally misleading. #ABLeg #fail

That is a quote from the Mackinnon Report where in she is trying to convince you that AB overspends on education and her math actually convinces you that AB under-spends!!! #ABLeg #MacKinnonedition
Alberta spends far less than the avg of the other three populous provinces. $13,027 avg for big three versus $11,121 for AB. Curious that she used that methodology for other areas of her report but not education. I wonder why? #ABLeg

This article accurately describes this budget speech. It is worth a read. Teck Frontier gets cancelled and Travis can't bring himself to mention climate change once in the budget.
Travis did spend one sentence urging the public sector to "work together" with him to address the poor state of AB finances.

He even said it with a straight face.

Travis how about you un-hijack my pension and then we can talk about working together?

You don't help the public sector want to "work together" when you make arbitrary decisions about joint pension plans. Especially when the GOA makes less than half the contributions.
