@Irek_K Saw what you said regarding the Canada Disability Benefit today. Why are the Liberals being so tight-lipped regarding this benefit? You speak about its urgency, but you've yet to reveal details regarding eligibility, amounts, or even a timeline.
Disabled Canadians & Families of those with #pwd cannot afford to wait 3 years for the "consultation" you wanted to do in the 2021 Budget. Has that study even fully started, by the way? You brought up the DIAP again, is that part of the study or a separate thing?
In addition, you mention how this will help "hundreds of thousands". When you have around 40% of 6 MILLION Canadians living with a disability in poverty, hearing that this might go to so few scares me as a Disabled Canadian, despite the fact I'm currently "able" enough to work.

For each #Province and #Territory in #Canada, here is the help that was offered to those living with #disabilities. This will include the #Federal help offered as well as any hoops #PWDs may have needed to jump through to get it and whether CERB was clawed back or not.
This is based on my own research, and if anyone sees anything I missed or may have gotten wrong please let me know.
Let's start with #Yukon
According to several articles, eligible families on #disability supports we're to get up to $400 to help with costs until August. Unknown what eligibility was.

I identify as centrist. Every fed election since 18 I have voted Liberal. That option will never fly in AB even though many voters fit there. Which leader currently has highest popularity?? Fed Liberal. The central one. WTF AB. Quit attacking centrists. It is not helping.

I am done with UCP creating needless stress & struggles for our most vulnerable with changes to #AISH. I have heard of 2 deaths by suicide directly due to UCP cuts. There will be more. Those on #AISH matter to me. They deserve compassion, not cuts. Support, not distress. /2
I am done being told there were no cuts to Ed. Bullshit. Feb had direct cuts to both PUF & ADLC & we KNOW if you compare numbers, there are cuts. How DARE UCP cause more struggles for kids, esp those with special needs. That is beyond cruel & immoral. These cuts harm kids. /3

16 Food hampers went out and were delivered! Just drained and frustrated as yet another mom was on my mind all day today.
Racism and bullying was on my mind today too. There were times when I pulled over after a delivery and just cried.

Now I understand that government agencies have mandates to work under. However they also have discretion and emergency funding to help people.

Cara has gone through a lot as a child. Growing up she had difficulties in coping with traumatic experiences that she and her other family members both lived with and went through.

Ever since she was on AISH, Cara and others we have talked to all recognized that all the AISH workers that our daughter and others have had to work with have always reinforced to their clients the lifelong message that many clients were unworthy of support, care & medical care.
Cara and her sister grew up in a home that had a mother with serious mental health diagnoses as well as an alcoholic father who left when Cara was 9 and her sister was 6.

You see she got a phone call at 3:30am! She got a phone call in the middle of the night from someone who had no where else to turn and someone who was literally told by AN AISH WORKER that if they wanted their partner to get their whole AISH benefit......3/?

...think of I will end up having to tell my worker about it. For instance if I pawn something or sell something and I get money from this and I don’t inform my worker I could get in trouble. Last year we had a garage sale & my worker actually stopped in unaware it was my house...
...she didn’t say anything at the time but the next week sent me a letter that inquired about how much I made at my garage sale as it could “potentially” affect my cheque. Look at me I’m getting sidetracked back to the issue at hand...

Applicants must first prove medical condition to determine eligibility. The UCP government this week made another change to an income support program for people with severe disabilities who are unable to work.
Albertans who apply for AISH will first have to prove their physical and or mental condition prevents them from working. Before the change people first had to supply info related to their income and prove they don't have $100,000 in assets.
