That is a quote from the Mackinnon Report where in she is trying to convince you that AB overspends on education and her math actually convinces you that AB under-spends!!! #ABLeg #MacKinnonedition

Alberta spends far less than the avg of the other three populous provinces. $13,027 avg for big three versus $11,121 for AB. Curious that she used that methodology for other areas of her report but not education. I wonder why? #ABLeg

If you pick a methodology for comparing costs you should report it all the way through, even if it is not in your favor. So, as you can see, good ol 'Berta spends less than average on education. #ABLeg #intellectualhonesty

Let us critically examine this claim from the article:
"The report cited that Alberta teachers receive about $116,000 a year on average in salary and compensation, compared with $119,000 in Ontario and $104,000 in British Columbia."

The statement above is often made by UCP MLA's including @jkenney. And, look it is repeated without question (no blame here).

THE CHART THAT THESE NUMBERS COME FROM IS ENTITLED :

"Comparison of Maximum Teacher Compensation"

Am I the only person who is concerned when the data says "maximum compensation" but the UCP talking point says "average compensation"? @globeandmail

These two things are not the same. Further from KPMG's footnotes "Figures are based on C5 maximum salary..."

With no justification as to why they chose to compare maximum compensation and not average compensation.
