CDC claims after they distributed CDC rRT-PCR tests to diagnose COVID-19 to state & local labs, performance issues were identified related to problem in manufacturing 1 of reagents. Labs couldn't verify test performance

CDC now claims they developed new protocol using 2 of the 3 components of original CDC test kit to detect the virus that causes COVID-19 after establishing 3rd component, which was a problem w/ original test, can be excluded without affecting accuracy.

I see 4 reagents. 🧐
CDC is working with FDA to amend existing Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for the test, but FDA granted discretionary authority for use of original test kits.
Public laboratories can use original CDC test kit to test for the virus that causes COVID-19 using new protocol.

I think it can't be overstated how much the fandom adored Jake English in particular. Basically the second he was revealed people latched onto him as literally the hottest thing in the story. He was the fandom's new husband and everyone loved him.
He was also someone who wouldn't be able to take a hint if there were airstrip lights guiding him to it. Not stupid so much as incredibly socially awkward due to his isolation from humanity. He also basically immediately overshadowed Jane in the fandom's eye
