This is not the Trump admin's "first" crisis. There are glaring similarities between Hurricane Maria & the coronavirus response: Bogus Trumpian claims, bewildering photo ops, news stories exposing flaws in the govt's response, people at the epicenter using the press to seek help.
At the CDC on Friday, Trump wore a campaign hat and asked about Fox's ratings and insulted Washington state's governor and brought up the Ukraine scandal. Most of the news coverage of the visit downplayed just how strange it was. And that's a problem — we need to describe reality
