There were actually three main points I wanted to make in today's column, and I thought I would spell them out in case you missed them 1/ nytimes.com/2019/03/28/opi…
The first is that Republicans are still coming for your healthcare. Trump may have surprised some of them with his kill-the-ACA filing, but they support the goal – they'd just rather not talk about it until after the election 2/
The second is that the Democratic House plan is very good. It's not what any progressive ultimately wants -- I'm basically a Medicare for America guy, others want full single-payer. But this can happen fast, helping millions. So go for it! 3/ cbpp.org/research/healt…
The final point is that this is where the rubber meets the road on fiscal responsibility, paygo, and all that. Democrats should not worry about how to pay for enhanced subsidies. And Republicans, who just blew a $2 trillion hole in the budget, have no right to complain 4/
Between the Dem plan and GOP objectives, the outcome of the 2020 election will at minimum make a difference to around 30 million people who will have health care if Ds win, won't have it if Rs win 5/
