Perhaps the worst tweet of the Presidency
1) The key metric is *speed* of spread, not the current total # of cases

2) Two weeks ago Italy had a similarly small number of cases; today their ICUs are full and they have full quarantines

Trump is going to have to reverse himself in a matter of weeks
Downplaying a crisis that has already gone supernova in multiple other countries is just a terrible terrible idea

If Democrat messaging is "#COVID19 is a massive problem, we need to get out in front of it"

And Trump's messaging is "flu kills way more people, this will go away"

then #MAGA will get crushed if things go sideways

like they already have in Italy
Trump will not be punished for overreacting

But if we get an ICU crunch - like Italy/China/SK have already had -

then think about the video clips that will hit in November

Voters will forgive a lot if the President is providing aggressive leadership to solve a crisis

One annoying thing about being sick with the flu is that you miss some stories

Judge Reggie Walton wrote the most outrageous judicial opinion that I've read this year, managing to turn a routine FOIA dispute into a full-throated attack on Bill Barr

This right here is one of the most cowardly things I've ever seen a judge write

He calls Bill Barr a liar, while refusing to identify what Barr lied about

And the statements at issue ARENT EVEN RELEVANT to the issue being resolved
At a minimum, Judge Walton should be recusing himself from every case involving the Trump administration

And the Senate should give serious thought to censuring the Judge for his conduct here

I did not vote for Mike DeWine, but I am grateful for his leadership right now. He is taking this seriously, and explaining how we all need to work together to flatten the curve.
He’s handed the podium over to a doctor, who has said that they have many tests being performed; that they expect these results to confirm what they suspect: there is community spread.
They are saying: TAKE ACTION NOW. Explaining the curve again.

Hello all, as this can be a crucial day for the new (populist) #Italy government I am now going to tweet a short thread on it, focusing especially on the (almost ready) M5S-LEGA agenda. At least 70 billions of additional debt are expected. How will Europe react? THREAD 🇮🇹
1. As I have been personally saying since the first election results (see here ) and despite a broad general skepticism on it in #Italy, a LEGA-M5S government was the only possible, given the circumstances after the vote. So, now we are very close to it.
2. Five Stars Movement (M5S) leader Di Maio and LEGA leader Salvini have been negotiating for days on a coalition contract (like in Germany). There have reportedly agreed on many points (we'll see later). But the big hurdle is: who is going to be the new Prime Minister?
