Republicans: We’re going to lose the three youngest generations of voters forever.

Democrats: Hold our beer.
I’m 45 but I don’t feel a day over 44.
The point about turnout is a valid one but one that needs to be tempered with the reality of youth targeted suppression.
Anyway bear with me. This is terribly disappointing, all the more so for being self-inflicted. There are things we desperately need immediately that won’t be happening now. We’ve chosen the more fraught path, believing it to be the safer one.
All of you who would like to let me know that you think I am wrong: you have no idea how badly I would like to be proved wrong about most of these things, or how little pleasure I would take in being proved right.

Let's not ever forget that the Republican president's first, second, third, and fourth instinct to a global pandemic that threatened the welfare of U.S. citizen was to cover it up to protect his numbers, and every Republican official's instinct was to help him try.
And let's never forget that the only reason they couldn't quite manage a cover-up is because the virus, being a virus, also threatened them, and wealthy people, and wealth itself.

You can get media to buy your denial of reality, or senators to vote for it, but virus gonna virus.
Imagine if media were still calling COVID19 "controversial" as in "both political parties engaged inflammatory rhetoric today as Democratic lawmakers claimed the controversial COVID19 is a real virus that poses real dangers, but Republicans said it was a hoax."

I'm not suggesting conspiracy here. I'm just saying we're a society that has internalized that life must be earned by being profitable, and those who haven't earned life have obviously earned death.

A society that believes that builds structures that reflect that belief.
Once you see that this is what our society believes, you see it everywhere, literally everywhere, from things people say directly to the way we design our park benches.

Think of all the things we don’t have $1.5 trillion for.

“But how will you pay for it?” Is always always always a statement of priority, not of capability.
People do not exist to benefit markets.

Markets exist to benefit people, and should be permitted to exist only to the extent that they do so, and should be immediately scrutinized, and ruthlessly corrected, the moment they even momentarily attempt to reverse that dynamic.
We have a sociopathic society, and it’s being exposed for what it is.

it’s a society that believes that we have no connection to one another, and that life must be earned, and that the way you earn it is by being profitable.

#Democrats are trying to weaponize #COVID19 against Trump. Good-hearted (and otherwise smart) supporters are trying to downplay the significance of #coronavirus in order to shield the President and counter the #Democrat attack.

Both are equally dangerous, and wrong.

Here's why:
The Democrats are weak. Under ordinary circumstances there is no way in hell they could ever even dent, let alone, beat, @realDonaldTrump. They know this, and have known it for some time. That's why every untied shoelace is used as an attacking point to try to gain some leverage.
THIS IS NO UNTIED SHOELACE. This is potentially the biggest challenge any American president has faced since at least World War II, and in my estimation it's much less of a winnable political fight than a war in which he can win just by rallying the troops properly.

update: not mac time yet. still trying to fix the storage on my computer it went from 34 gb left to 110 left just this week and 80 something to 110 today so i think i'm doing good with that haha. going to check if i can shrink volume now

Prediction: Impeachment is a trap being set by Republicans. They're going to use it to make Biden unelectable by making it a comparison of who is more corrupt. It's a Trump said / Biden said competition and Trump is better at slinging mud.
Watch recent footage of Giuliani speaking on MSNBC. He's chomping at the bit to tell the world how Biden and his son interfered in a foreign country's dealings, forcing a prosecutor to be fired. Was the prosecutor corrupt? Or, was Biden corrupt? Thinking of an elephant?
Republicans desperately want Warren to get the DNC nomination. They know they can beat her at the ballot box. No Trump voter will ever vote for Warren. Not one. She's Hillary 2.0, even more so than Biden. Their second choice is Sanders, who they're ready to label Socialist.

One of the perverse realities of American politics since the Southern Strategy is how black voters, unions and groups like Planned Parenthood keep getting lumped into “the Establishment” or “the system” by certain parts of the left. /1
The Southern Strategy moved a lot of white people, and especially white men, into the GOP. A direct result of all that white flight (which took decades) is that the Democratic Party, as an establishment, is disproportionately black- and woman-powered. Never more so than now. /2
And that influence is probably at its greatest and most visible in the primaries, when the base gets to vote amongst themselves.

Meaning, in the primaries, reliable Democratic *voters* are a huge part of the Democratic “establishment”. /3

Congress and the American people have the right to know what the special counsel has unearthed.

Even the president and House #Republicans have called for the full release of #Mueller’s findings.
Now, Barr ought to make good on the commitments to transparency he made to us over the course of his confirmation.
That means outlining a clear, expeditious process for reviewing the report, transmitting it to Congress, and preserving the work product and records of the special counsel.

This is no time for cover-ups.
