(1) What exactly did CNN's Chris "Fredo" Cuomo mean by saying "go straight ethnic" with your cleaning of surfaces and why should it matter?

First, I am largely ignoring the TDS-addled left today, after a brilliant WH presser & market fightback...

(2) As a foreign interferer and mere honorary American, I often have to ask y'all what certain slang phrases mean, so I did that via DM with some of my secret cabal of cultural advisers. You know who you are.🤓

Here's what I think "go straight ethnic" means to some people.
(3) An Occam's Razor approach suggests Fredo more likely meant domestic cleaning work and not actual ethnic cleansing. The latter is still possible, but we may never know for sure.

AFAIK he hasn't explained himself yet, which is a bad move IMO.
(4) Whose domestic cleaning work? Italian mothers? Hispanic employees? I'm betting the latter.

It's a disgusting, inappropriate thing for someone in his position to say in the way he did.

Although, any attention drawn to fighting Wuhan Virus is a good thing. TP won't save us!
(5) I'm a WASP female who cleans like her life depends on it, and we all should be that way atm.

Ethnicity has zero to do with anything OF COURSE.

Fredo's little "joke" is not a joke to Hispanic Americans discriminated against on a daily basis.
(6) Racism is real, and it can go in any direction. Most of it tends to go in the direction of whichever group is a minority in that culture or setting.

In the US, most of it is directed against non-whites. That's just a fact.

I fight racism & that includes calling it out.
(7) In every country, the demographic that tends to do most of the cleaning or other menial jobs tends to be discriminated against by assholes who consider themselves to be above that work.

I want to mention such a group living in the UK and other European countries...
(8) I came to learn about the way domestic cleaning by women is seen within this group by watching this TV series:

mirror.co.uk/all-about/big-…
(9) According to the TV series, wives in the UK's "traveller" community are not expected to get an education or work outside the home. They are expected to focus solely on keeping the home fastidiously clean and tidy, cooking, caring for children, and hubby's sexual needs.
(10) While most of us value the freedom to live that way if we choose, cultural groups in the US who do are routinely scorned.

But back to Europe. "Travellers" "Gypsies" or "P****s" are a group associated with this one:

holocaustremembrance.com/genocide-of-th…
(11) Regular readers will know my views on Holocaust Remembrance and fighting antisemitism in all its forms.

Jews were the largest group targeted in the Holocaust, other groups were the Roma, homosexuals, the disabled, and political dissidents.

Never forget. Never again.
(12) Making an ethnic slur against people who clean homes (99% of whom are women and girls) is not OK.

Many of us are used to the radical left making such slurs, and Fredo's "slip" on live TV belies his true beliefs about Hispanics, women, and many other groups.
(13) I'm hoping this thread flushes out some more antisemitic, racist, sexist losers from all sides of the political spectrum.

It helps with my Twitter account hygiene efforts.

See, I judge people by their actions, not their race or sex.
(14) I constantly educate myself about the Holocaust and antisemitism in particular, for its own sake but also to learn about all other forms of bigotry and terrorism.

Tomorrow New Zealand will commemorate the first anniversary of our own 9/11, which was 3/15.
(15) As a human, to me it matters less which color, sex, faith, or other characteristic is targeted by killers, than the innocent loss of life.

Supposedly minor slips of the tongue on live TV shd be denounced. Esp. when the same folk call us racist for saying Wuhan Virus.

END
(16) Update. Going by some of the replies, Fredo's casual racism has a bit of casual sexism with it too.

Newsflash: People of either gender and any race can be devoted cleaners, or not.

Stereotyping is a thing. I learned about trying to avoid that in the 1980s. Catch up?
(17) Personal and domestic hygiene is an extremely personal subject. Yet the Wuhan Virus pandemic forces us to care about what we and those around us do.

That need is greater for those at greater risk of harm, like me.

We are asking you to help us stay safe.
(18) You may well consider what we do "over-cleaning." Fine, have at it.

But please, for the next while could you listen to us, and show a bit of empathy?

When our lives are in less danger we can go back to the way it was before. There's a war on. Help in the war effort.
