Sorry I have got to say this.

1) From the announcement of the spike in cases yesterday at around 5pm, until 10pm today, Malaysians did not know whether there will be a lockdown.

So, they panic bought, fearing the worst - which is a lockdown.

2) 24 hours of Malaysians being in the dark, Health Minister comes out with a PC and saya 'wait for PM's announcement at 9pm'.

So, people who did not panic buy, started panic buying because they did not know what the PM was going to announce. Again, anticipated a lockdown.

3) By around 8 something, PC was postponed to 10pm. More time for people to buy stuff in anticipation of a lockdown.

4) 10pm, PM made his speech. We still dont know full extent of this order. What we do know, is that its not a lockdown. Supermarkets still open.

5) All that panic buying, all those people rushing to get groceries - in the end its for nothing. But can't blame them - the Government let people wonder for 29 hours and made them anticipate the worst.

6) I know all this is unprecedented. But it could have been better managed. Meetings could have been done earlier. Announcements could have been better coordinated. PCs too - PM and Health Minister had simultaneous PCs.

7) I am not criticising for the sake of doing so. I feel that this needs to be said, so that the Government will do better. Because we the people deserve better, especially in times of crisis.

This is not about politics. This is about working together to fight a global problem.

8) Lastly, I believe the order made is the correct call in principle. It lack details, but thats another issue.

My criticism is about how we got to this point.
