I'm an advanced nurse practitioner. Our team is responsible for looking after the hospital at night, the sickest patients, those who need CPR. I've just finished my first 3 shifts since the corona virus outbreak in Scotland #covidー19uk

It was difficult and everyone is scared. Here are some things;
-to all the people who can and are working from home, I applaud you. It's not mandatory, you're just taking responsibility for the things you can affect which makes you a hero!
-this will not last forever

-I feel more scared and panicked when I feel helpless. But we're not. We can self isolate, distance ourselves socially and practice excellent hand hygine.
-this will not last forever.
-every one person who stays healthy, is one less who will potentially need a hospital bed

-to the health care staff who are shaving their beards to better protect themselves and others, I applaud you!
-plant some veggies if you have a garden or lettuces in window boxes if you don't. Gardening is great for the soul and an excellent temporary distraction for anxiety

-every sensible decision you make is an act of love for your loved ones, for the most vulnerable and for your community.
-some day soon we will look back on the resilience and compassion that we have shown during this difficult time and be proud of ourselves 💪

-be kind, compassionate and patient whenever you can.
-this will not last forever!
There might be more things, but that's plenty for now 😉
