Ontario teachers - Please help our Ontario Nurses!

My wife is a nurse. She, and many other nurses are terrified to go to work (yet still are) because the hospitals are withholding N95 masks, saying that airborne precautions are
not necessary. Not only does this action put our healthcare workers at risk (when they're gone, who is going to do that work), it makes them potential transmitters of the disease to other patients and to their families. Imagine that feeling. ONA is currently fighting this
decision, but it would be a huge help if others could call, email and tweet our MPPs to let them know that this is unacceptable. Please share widely and inform the public. Nurses need to know that they have our as they put themselves in harms for us.

In a nutshell, we are teaching children how to be in abusive relationships. As a survivor of abuse and sexual assault, this is killing me. I don't know how to cope with the guilt and anxiety I feel about the situations these kids are put into.

We tiptoe around volatile students in an effort to prevent them from becoming dysregulated. If a student escalates, the discussion becomes about what everyone else did, where we could have acted differently, where we could have changed our behaviour so as not to set them off.

Many of you know our situation 👇 but today my mom had to use her Target card🎯,(over it's limit), to get a cash advance of $90 to pay for HER meds.
She's on 4 diff.high BP meds.
She's already cut her meds in 1/2 to save $. 😭

My mom is now 78-year-old yrs old.
She's an RN who worked until she was 75.
She had to quit bc my health continues to decline.
B4 the #ACA, we went through our life savings on my #Healthcare.
We even went to the MAYO clinic (I still owe $9000)
No one should go bankrupt bc health
I was a practicing atty when I was bitten by a #tick.
I worked as a defense atty & then w/abused women & children.
Despite a severe rash, meningitis, & flaccid paralysis, I wasn't treated for 11 mos.
By then, the E. Chaffeensis, Rickettsia, & #Lyme was in my spinal cord & brain.

"Dr. Weber stabilized patients as they came in." All by herself? Do @ginakolata @nytimes really think stabilization happens without #nurses? #Nurses do surveillance looking for signs of deterioration 24/7 so they can take action, turn around declining patients and stabilize them.

What will I find if I search there, using "Native American" as the search term?
I entered the phrase and got this far:

"Native American"

The autofill gave me "Native Americans" (obvious) but the second one is "Native Americans totem pole."

Does that mean that queries about totem poles are popular on this site?
For now, I'll do the "Native Americans" search and see what teachers are sharing on that site. Having been on the site before, I'm not optimistic.

Attrition Count Period: 19/20 attrition only counts for funding if it happens between March 1st & the last day before school starts (Monday Sept 2nd for most). Any attrition after that counts for next year.

** It's recommended to use LTO's, not contracts for these positions !!!
What counts as attrition? Retirements or leaves during the attrition period. Leaves includes teachers who leave the classroom for other roles, but doesn't include mat leaves or other "health" leaves.
