Over the last few days we have been in discussions with @RwandaICT, @CentralBankRw & @RURA_RWANDA on how best @MTNRwanda can help support the Government’s efforts to #StopTheSpread of the #Coronavirus.

@MTNRwanda is happy to announce, effective 19th March 2020, all #MTNMoMo transactions related to sending money to others, transferring money between your mobile wallet and bank account, as well as when you pay for any goods or services using #MoMoPay will be FREE!

We will also during this time support all sellers to onboard onto #MoMoPay, so they can start accepting #MTNMoMo as a payment option. Whenever you walk into a shop - pls start by asking if you can pay via #MTNMoMo, this is FREE to the seller and FREE to you as a customer.

This fact+Canavan's intervention coming so long after the policy hit the public, shows the former resources minister's purpose is tribal.
Actually, farmer groups (not all) have been working quietly (too quietly IMO) on building policy for farmers to take advantage of opportunities that might also present some solutions, including around land management, carbon abatement and eco-services. nff.org.au/media-release/…

THREAD Over the last few days my Twitter feed’s been full of incredible fundraising & donations for frontline responders to #AustralianBushfires by celebrities, sportspeople, musicians, actors, authors, instagram influencers, media commentators & more. It makes my heart sing. BUT
As a longterm scholar of citizen civic & political engagement in Australia I also see it reinforces our national story of community-engaged ‘doers’, resilient in the face of a crisis, ‘she’ll be right’ as long as we all help one another.
On the surface this is a good thing. Despite decades of consumerist neo-liberalism, a strong communitarian/egalitarian ethos remains strong here (tempered sometimes by ugly debates on who’s most deserving or un-deserving of community support)

1. The Democrats live and die by polls. They poll-test EVERYTHING they say for public consumption in order to further their politics. Their political tactic in that regard has been well-honed over the years works like this.
1A. Pick an issue.

Test some buzz words that convey their political intent with Democrat focus groups.
1B. Disseminate those words and phrases to Democrats masquerading as journalists in the legacy media via leftwing media organizations such as Media Matters and Share Blue.

Propagate those endlessly in every public appearance and media setting.

Been reading a bunch of Annual Reports last few days. Creating this thread to capture and share interesting tidbits from the ones I am reading this season. Will be updated on an ongoing basis next few weeks.

2. Few bluechips have reported their #EconomicValueAdded (EVA), a good measure of shareholder value creation. HUL AR does a great job of explaining details. EVA as % avg capital employed over a period of time can be a good leading indicator. Pidilite also shares EVA details
3. Chairman's letter+MD&A section of top 2/3 key players provide great overview of economy and sector dynamics.
Few suggested section reads are HUL, Kotak, PEL, Sterlite Tech, Everest Ind+Visaka, Godrej Prop, OCCL, Hikal, Aavas, RBL, L&T Infotech, Zydus Wellness.

1.The first one has to do with this #Africangangs issue, which I have been describing as a government fueled racist outbreak. I find it deeply upsetting.
2. Another intrusive thought has been the issue of an Australian Republic, which I think is more desperately needed than most of us realise.
