But we have modern medicine now. So we have a much better survival rate to look forward to along with flattening the curve with self distancing and self imposed isolation.

One of the outcomes will be the propesnsity for many to point fingers and blame. As we see with recorded history, pandemics happen regularly. There is no one to blame. There is no evidence this is biological warfare.
Another outcome will be a depleted workforce. The current death rate hovers around 2-7% depending on the approach taken.
It is expected that Italy will experience a very high death rate. While South Korea is mitigating the impact by an explosion of testing right from the start.
