There don’t appear to be any plans for a COVID-19 tracking app in the US. Has anyone seen any proposals? What’s the point of all this testing capacity if you can’t do contact tracing.
The technology is the most important component here. Mass testing is pointless without a tracking app. You have to be able to tell where people have been, so you can warn others. That’s the SK/Taiwan strategy. (Read the rest of this thread, it’s solid).
Only some regions of the US have big outbreaks that require lockdowns. They can be isolated and the rest of the country can adopt a SK/Taiwan-like case containment strategy using a tracking app, mass testing, and quarantines. That’s the way to avoid economic damage.
Why do South Korea, Taiwan, mainland China, and Singapore all have sophisticated pandemic tracking apps that alert users when they’ve been exposed but global tech leader America doesn’t? Somebody get @TuckerCarlson to tell @realDonaldTrump to get Big Tech on this.
