Teachers have been thrust onto the frontline of this crisis.

The Premier has failed to provide any reassurance for our public school teachers and principals. 👇🏻
The Premier has failed to issue clear and unequivocal advice in relation to school closures.

What we have now is a recipe for chaos.
Encouraging parents and caregivers to choose whether their children attend school or not fails to offer any assurances or provide any certainty. The Premier has created a moral dilemma for parents.
If clarity was given then plans could be made to transition our schools for the provision of minimal supervision for the children of essential services workers

As of midday, yesterday, plans were being enacted to wind back school operations. Described as the UK model, schools were to remain open with appropriate levels of supervision for children of essential workers.
In the UK, schools are being kept as empty as possible. Flexible arrangements are in place for school staff to ensure effective minimum supervision and the further ongoing development of online educational material for students not at schools.

At a state level, the Berijiklian Government gifted private schools $500 million as an election promise.
While public school enrolments continue to grow, so too does the state and federal government’s obscene commitment to the dance studios and capital portfolios of private schools.

Fauci says the crisis is likely to run for 2 wks to 2 months. To judge from the 1918 “Spanish” flu, the more likely scenario is 2 months.

We need more clarity from Fauci about what the implications would be of “flattening the curve.”

Note that the shapes of the two curves are different, but the areas under the curves look to be quite similar.

If I had the curve equations, I could calculate the areas under the curves and compare them. (In calculus it’s called integration.) 3/11

1. RELIEF FUND: Until we have univ. health care we need an emergency health relief fund. The # of critical cases, meaning cases requiring significant medical intervention, are more than ten fold the number of deaths. For many this will result bankruptcy levels of medical debt.
2. ER COVERAGE: Health Insurance companies should not be allowed to deny coverage for treatments that are not 'pre-approved' or "FDA approved' as all of the treatment options for severe cases of COVID are 'off-label'

I'm a teacher at Al Ameen Public school Edappally, Ernakulam. Every month the management forcefully collects blank cheques from us. Then they credit the CBSE recommended salary to the teacher's account. Within minutes, they debit around 9000 from our accounts and evade the tax.
When I complained about this corruption, to the CM n enquiry came, the manager Siyad koker, Academic counselor Thahar, Principal Lekshmi Haridas and Vice principal Shafeena Nisam called me alone to the room and threatened me and terminated me from service.
As a teacher I believe it's my duty to voice against the exploitation of teachers by the school management. It's our duty to stop this financial fraud. They are evading large amounts of income tax for the past decades. I hope the authority would look into this matter.
