Johnson's government's response to CV19 has been weak

Remember, in February, when other countries were building facilities to deal with CV19, Johnson went AWOL for 12 days. 1/

He did not chair a Cobra meeting until March.

And even though schools have now closed, the original plans were to increase class sizes.

And yet, they pretend that nothing has changed. That this was always their intention.

The advice on pubs & public gatherings has been particularly poor.

“The Government has said ‘avoid pubs and crowded places’. However, we are still expected to carry on as normal!”

Make no mistake, the recent changes in policy are welcome.

But they are reversals & not merely implementing the right policies at the right time.

These "right policies" are being implemented weeks after they should and could have been implemented.

The WHO first issued guidance on what they called an emergency to Johnson et al. in January. They did not take it.

Does this matter?

Well, only time will tell.

But it seems likely that these mistakes will cost lives.
