1/ #YangGang, thank you for your messages of concern. Below is an email I sent to my dr that can't treat us because #Covid19 test results take 7 days here. We are a day or 2 away from day 7 when most that go to hospital go. I hope it is all in our heads, but doesn't feel like it.
2/ "We are just 2 cases, but thought it might be useful to know what we are experiencing as you talk to other patients.

Recent data suggests Zinc can help in coronavirus cases & we started daily Zicam & multi-vitamins 2 wks ago.

We've been walking in the sun regularly.
3/ My 13 year old son & I had minor sinus symptoms for a few days & scratchy throat 2 days before other symptoms. He's had no other symptoms.

My daughter has had on & off temps in the 99.3-8 range over last 2 days, but no other symptoms.
4/ From a timing perspective, it seems like we may be now in day 5 or so of the infection based on this progression and timing of our diarrhea to time for first fever. Symptom progression - bit.ly/wlcovid19
5/ The studies say that the diarrhea happens 1-2 days before "day 1". My wife had fever and diarrhea a day or two before me, so may be that much ahead. The fact both of us had diarrhea is concerning, because the study out of China linked that to more severe cases.
6/ The study did say that the patients presented at the hospital primarily due to gastrointestinal issues, but we had 1 day of it each, but it hasn't been severe enough for us to go to hospital.
7/ Neither of us have had any issue with loss of smell.

Fever in the range of 99.3 - 100.5. Wife has consistently higher temp. I've never hit 100. We check our temperature 4-8 times a day & there is always fluctuation. Mine drops into the 97s and her's drops down to the 98s.
8/ The sensation in the chest is like you can actually feel them filling up, but almost like it is something solid. I have never felt anything like it before from an illness. There are twinges of pain in the chest for me and in the upper back for my wife.
9/ The twinges of pain almost feel like tiny pieces of broken glass in my lungs scratching and then sometimes there will be more of a stabbing feeling.

We can feel pressure or constriction in our lungs growing more & more each day.
10/ We are not laboring to breath, but it feels like it is just a bit more effort.

Since yesterday, my wife has had more fatigue. I've had some incidence of it, but nothing debilitating whereas she had to just collapse in bed this afternoon.
11/ The fatigue and ill feelings seem to come and go during the day. I get focused on work and she gets focused on things in the house, so that may be the reason.
12/ The fact that we have to wait for treatment until we have our results when the results are taking a week to get to us, makes the entire idea of getting a test completely pointless. You aren't permitted to treat us, but we obviously have multiple symptoms of the virus.
13/ The problem is that there are likely thousands of others just like us, that could end up taking beds in a hospital, when we could have been treated all along by having us sign a waiver of some sort.
14/ It seems like the CDC, FDA, and the hospital systems are actually increasing the overloading of the system by trying to follow the rules that are going to make the entire epidemic worse.
15/ We could have been treated and potentially avoided the dread and using up hospital resources, but instead we've lost 3 days so far of opportunity to treat this.
16/ I've had doctors prescribe meds for other illnesses even without a test having been done, but for some reason in an epidemic when treatment should be given priority, we are actually holding it back.
17/ You have my permission to share this with anyone that can make a change to the system or influence those that can. I am very worried for my wife, because she has lung problems and this process is putting her more at risk every day. 7 days for test results for this illness…
18/ …is ludicrous by itself, but I understand that is a capacity issue, but not providing treatment when a patient could avoid taking up an ICU bed is borderline dangerous, especially if it is happening all over South Florida or around the country.
19/ I do understand you have to follow rules and procedures and I do not blame you, but somebody needs to get someone to move on this before it makes everything worse and the numbers are only going to grow.

Thanks for listening."
20/ We still hope this is all in our heads, but at this point I seriously doubt it. We aren't suffering beyond mental suffering and the pain and heaviness in our chest, but we also don't know how badly it will advance.
21/ Others are going through much worse right now, but I thought it would help for others to know our experience.

Just posted this and wife’s temperature just broke 101 for first time and breathing is more difficult. Seems like we are hitting the difficult stages.
