All these big corporations who spent their money on stock buybacks, why didn’t they put money away for a rainy day? Why don’t they have any savings for this emergency?

...Because they all knew the American people would be forced to bail them out if anything went wrong.
This precedent was set with the 2008 bank bailouts.

Economists call it “moral hazard.”

When allow businesses keep profits and socialize losses, you warp the marketplace, incentivizing companies to make much riskier decisions reaching for bigger prizes.
