Mncuhin: We wanted enhanced unemployment insurance. This was the only way we could make sure states can get the extra out quickly. doesn't think it will cause a problem with workers returning. no comment on specifics.

We don't have to test entire state in the midwest because they don't have a big problem. Certain states can go back to work now. We have some big problem areas not the entire nation. We have now tested far more than any other country with a better test.

We have tested more in 8 days than SK did in 8 weeks and SK did a good job.

Trump yes a lot of talk has been unfair, very much sided with China. At the same time there are some good people on WHO. So I don't know.
Dr. Fauci says WHO does have it's problems but under the current leadership WHO is doing a good job.

Two things going on in parallel
Flu surveillance still up and running and we are using that to watch for increase in any Flu like illness. This will give us a early warning system for counties with low numbers.

also testing results. 4 counties have the majority of cases all are in the NYC metro. 65% of cases and new cases.

We are close to working through backlog. Number of new cases has been constant for last three days and much of increase is due to backlog cases results.

Asks everyone leaving NYC metro to self monitor health for 14 days.

It's important for every America to protect yourself but also protect others by not spreading it to others.

Dr. Fauci: WHO call he was on today. Information gained. We learned interesting information. China is concerned that they are starting to see imported cases.

So we have to remember we don't want to import cases after we go through this. (Trump now has a reason to keep borders closed....)

Once the number of new cases starts to flatten out it's a good sign we are at the beginning of the end of the epidemic

We are starting to see in southern hemisphere that as they start to go into their fall season infections are going. So this may be seasonal and we might have another cycle.

Pence. We are making progress with ventilators. 150,000 ventilators across country + we have determined devices that are used outpatient surgeries can be converted. This will increase supply by 10,000s. GM and other companies are spinning up production

Dr. Brix....on ventilators...confirms they can be modified. They also have people that can run those ventilators that usually do outpatient elective surgeries. Can also free up resources from unaffected ares and move equipment around. The projects are skews.

She again explains that projections of 60-70% is only possible if we have three or more cycles so maybe by 2022. Numbers being put out are frightening to people because they are out of context. She explains the models are only good if you have no controls and no human interventio

Pence we are working on that and looking into those matters but the FEMA teams are leaning into this effort and we are shipping a ton of stuff to states. We want to make sure the left hand knows what the right hand is doing.

Spoke to several governors and are grateful for governors' efforts asking businesses to donate masks.
