By my count - the Daily Wire, Daily Caller, Washington Examiner, The Blaze, and The Federalist all have provably false stories about the Imperial college model still up on their sites

Only right-wing site reporting it accurately is Breitbart

Not to be harsh, but this is quite literally fake news, @JordanSchachtel.

As @RaheemKassam and others have explained, Ferguson is not "running" from his original projection. His prediction is *in his original paper*
As @RaheemKassam points out - the 20,000 figure was an estimate of what would happen if Britain put in place full social distancing measures (which they now have)

This is from Ferguson's initial paper, page 13.

21,000 is the projected death figure if the UK implements the measures which it now has.

Indeed. When you're model goes from predicting THE WORLD WILL END to predicting "no biggie, equivalent to a minor flu season" within a week, it means the model is garbage and we stop paying attention to your predictions
That said people are taking the wrong lesson

I'm seeing many people go "See! Now the model predicts a small # of deaths! We clearly overreacted!"

Wrong

The lesson is "these models are garbage and we can't rely on them in EITHER direction."
Then we're back to the original position

Which is: enormous uncertainty about transmissibility, lethality, etc

Some guess that huge %s of the population have already been infected and the virus is less lethal than people think

Great! Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

This article appears to conflate two different stories in order to make a false argument.

Notice the claim that Ferguson now admits that he was wrong and has revised the Imperial College Model. The article then says that Ferguson has revealed "that far more people likely have the virus than his team figured."

But the link they include does not support this.
The Daily Wire article links to this article from the New Scientist. It has new material from Ferguson. But the material here is not the same as what Daily Wire concludes.

1. This right wing media meme that Neil Ferguson "walked back" the Imperial College report's findings in Britain are utterly and completely false
2. The argument rests on the idea that Ferguson's Imperial team predicted that Britain could have as many as 500,000 deaths, but recently said that deaths there likely wouldn't exceed 20,000.
3. Except the original model predicted that a total as low as 20,000 was possible in the UK — if Britain changed course toward a more aggressive policy. Don't take my word from it; here's the table of projected deaths from the report. You can see huge variation based on response
