Today, let's discuss about an aspect of life which often decides what we do and how we do it. Something that if handled well, could open up the entire universe as well as remove the veil of ignorance.

Am talking about 'Perception', it also goes by other names like impression, attitude, image, approach, awareness, knowledge, opinion, judgment, viewpoint, etc.

So, why am I talking about 'Perception', because it is an aspect of life that's being mishandled or rather handled in wrong way. Like I said earlier, each and every action of ours is defined in anticipation of the response it would garner from society, family, loved ones, etc.
Can I ask something, sit back & think of key decisions in your life and try to answer honestly. Were those decisions in accordance to who you really are OR you took the decision because it had good chance of getting favourable response from all those whom I mentioned above?
If your decision was being true to yourself, then Congrats - you've already taken steps to be free from 'Maya' or the 'Veil of Ignorance'. I may look like ranting pointless, but let me explain how this ties in with an important aspect of 'Sanatana Dharma'.@hathyogi1 @_Aadishaktii
Because unlike other religions of the world, 'Sanatan Dharma' is based on the principle of 'Seeking' and 'liberation'. And one can be liberated only by having an open-mind as well as look at things without any presumption.

One of the synonyms for Perception is 'Judgment' as I mentioned earlier and this is exactly what we fear to face. We fear judgment from family, society, loved ones, etc. but fail to recognise the fact of how we'll judge ourselves.

My late grandma (Mahadev bless her Atma) taught me many lessons, but one of the key lessons was - never do or think of anything which will lower your stature in your own eyes. Because 'You're your best friend and your worst enemy'.
Being a social animal, we cannot completely ignore what the world thinks about us, but we certainly can stop 'judging' others merely based on what one says or does.

I know it's confusing, but here's a key to overcome this challenge.

Be 'open minded', don't clam-up with self-destructing thoughts like 'I'm right', 'I know better', etc. As one of the famous Tamil saying goes "கற்றது கைமண் அளவு, கல்லாதது உலகளவு" or to appeal to larger audience 'Known is a Drop, Unknown is an Ocean'.
@shivkatyayni777 @Shruthee22
This clearly espouses that one cannot know everything. Forget about everything, there's not even remotely possible to know everything about even something. Even if the subject is dear and known to you, doesn't mean that there's no other perspective.

@Bhaktirassagar @shri_v
Always try to understand why someone is doing what they're doing, seeking to understand is the first step to remove the 'veil of ignorance'. It goes other way around too, be ready to hear the feedback, even if it is not something you want to hear.

@harshapatel2013 @Lisha_Cryptic
Once someone develops the habit of not forming 'Perception' about others or rather 'Judging' others, the culture would slowly - very slowly mind you - will rub-off on people you come in contact with and may even more slowly change their behaviour.
I know this is a tall task and I might be wishing for the Stars in the Sky or even the Sky itself, but as follower of 'Sanatan Dharma', it's time we learn to set aside our habit of 'forming' perception and start seeking knowledge and understanding.
People who know me - even remotely - would agree that I don't suggest something I'm not ready to follow myself. It is based on my own experience that I'm sharing this with you all and with (maybe naive) hope that someone might listen to what I've said & at least think about it.
Sincere apologies if this thread of mine bored/confused you or if I erred somewhere.
