Long-term symptoms 6+ mo post-infection:

EBV: 11%
Q fever: 11%
Ross River Virus: 11%
West Nile Virus: 31%
SARS: 87%
Ebola: 90%
COVID-19: We have no idea
In general, the topic of long-term, post-infectious sequelae is not well-studied, probably for the same reasons #MECFS has not been well-studied. But maybe a few hundred million people being infected by a novel, zoonotic virus will (unfortunately) change things.
The quality of data by infectious agent varies––a lot. By the time we start worrying about survivors, the pandemic apparatus has usually long moved on and the money just isn't there to study the people left behind.

Apparently Transgender Trend are trying to crowdfund £50,000, to essentially undermine support for trans kids.

I’m fed up of anti-trans lobbyists misrepresenting themselves and their intentions towards trans kids, so will address their claims in this thread 👇🏻 #EnoughIsEnough
What they call “gender ideology” is basically acknowledging that just as there are trans adults, there are also trans kids, and that people should be respectful, accepting and kind to them (as they should to everyone!)
This is misleading. It implies that trans orgs think the rise in numbers is ‘not important’. It also alludes to debunked notions of ‘social contagion’ and ‘ROGD’.

Trans orgs acknowledge the upsurge, but attribute it to increased visibility and acceptance of trans people.

1/Children & young people with autism and learning disabilities who could be living in the community with specialist support are languishing for years in Assessment & Treatment Units, some of them locked up 24/7 in isolation rooms, bec of severe financial pressure on Local Auths
2/ At the same time, private providers running these ATUs are raking in profits, being paid £452m per yr in what has become a market driven provision where autistic and LD people are little more than commodities
3/ This in spite of the fact that caring for them in the community would be far less expensive not to mention far better for the individuals concerned, their quality of life, their security and safety and their wellbeing
