Wisconsin Dems won more votes than the GOP in 2018, but GOP gerrymanders resulted in large GOP legislative majorities. After Dems won 2018's gov race, the GOP used a lame-duck session to strip the governor's powers.

They're now suppressing voters to win a WI Supreme Court race.
The GOP is pulling out all the stops to win this WI Supreme Court race because a future progressive majority could strike down their gerrymanders & voter suppression laws. Instead, the GOP hopes the right-wing majority will remove the Dem governor's power to veto new gerrymanders
This is how Wisconsin GOP is attempting to permanently entrench themselves in power. A gerrymandered ruling minority is stopping people from voting in an election for a court that could check their power, & a GOP win would mean that court may further undermine fair elections
Wisconsin Republicans have ensured that the April 7 presidential primary & state Supreme Court general election will take place under grossly undemocratic conditions, & they're simultaneously fighting efforts to make it easier to vote safely by mail
10,000 voters per polling place. 10,000. This is going to cause long lines & make it very difficult to maintain social distancing measures. Wisconsin Republicans made this possible by refusing to expand mail voting to lower the demand for in-person voting
Finally. Dem Gov. Tony Evers has received a lot of criticism from Dems for failing to fully use his powers to try to delay next Tuesday's Wisconsin Supreme Court election & presidential primary (Evers has claimed only the GOP legislature can do it)
Wisconsin’s gerrymandered GOP legislature knows that if they don’t expand voting options & postpone Tuesday’s elections, hundreds of thousands could be deterred from casting their ballots. This is voter suppression in an effort to undemocratically win a WI Supreme Court election
Republicans are refusing to make it easier to vote by mail or postpone Wisconsin's state Supreme Court election & presidential primary on Tuesday, believing that low turnout amid the coronavirus pandemic will help them win. This is flagrantly undemocratic
A split verdict for voting rights ahead of WI's key April 7 Supreme Court race. The court refused to block extending the absentee mail deadline to April 13, but it stayed the lower court's order that voters didn't need witness signatures to vote absentee scribd.com/document/45489…
Wisconsin GOP is fighting tooth & nail to prevent the courts from ordering expansions of voting access because the GOP thinks their voter suppression will cost Dems this court race, which in turn will stop Dems from striking down their voting restrictions. An absurd vicious cycle
Wisconsin Republicans going all the way to the Supreme Court to prevent as many people as they can from voting by mail, which is the safest way for most people to vote amid the coronavirus pandemic. Tuesday's election is becoming grotesquely undemocratic
