Aloe vera is a potential carcinogen. Meaning its use can cause cancers in long term.
Always consult your physician or doctor (not #ayush) for the correct information regarding what supplements products are safe for you.
2/
Aloe vera can cause toxicity to reproductive organs
It is proven in mutiple animal studies.
Inform your doctor if you are using aloe products
3/
The toxic component (one of the knowns, many unknown) is anthraquinones.
What would be the anthraquinones concentration in over the counter products and multi level marketing products? Who regulates this?
#health #publichealth
4/
Initial studies in Aloe vera related liver injury. It started on Germany followed by many reports, studies and series. More cases are now being reported. #Wellness is crazy #fake.
5/
More components that are toxic.
Marketing companies don't mention all of this. They need to #fraud the public through #quackery advertising. That's how they survive. Like roaches. #pseudoscience
6/
There is no guarantee that you can remove all of toxic agents from aloe for human use. Because you dont know all toxic components yet.
Pyramid schemes dont know these health damaging information.
Stay safe. Be curious.
Think for URself.
Don't let ads decide UR health.

#India is probably ONLY country where spices are promoted as a '#treatment', '#prevention' of diseases rather than the flavouring foods that they R! This is done by #quackery promoting #government #ayush, #socialmediamarketing #SocialMedia, irresponsible visual, print #media

C this paper, Forsyth et al, 2019.
pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31550596/
#Bangladesh, adding lead chromate (yellow pigment) 2 #turmeric by polishers 2 satisfy wholesale dealers driven by demand 4 turmeric/#curcumin. #India, many #ayurveda companies marketing #turmeric products. Is it pure?
3/
This paper by Cowell et al, 2017
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…
The authors specify that many spices mix and turmeric contaminated with lead causing toxicity in #USA where from #India.
#Indian culture of daily #haldi #milk use is actually one of the stupidest #health #promotions

Hello Abdur! Ashwagandhadi lehyam is made out of
1.Aswagandha (Withania somnifera)
2.Masha (Phaseolus mungo)
3.Musli (Curculigo orchiodes)
Ther is more
It is prescribed as per ancient #Ayurveda texts for stamina, muscle building, increased sexual desire/prolonging sexual vigor.
1
BUT, no clinical studies on humans with a good control of another standard drug has been performed on the use of Ashwagandhadi lehyam. Which means, its use in current situations is more or less a gamble with #pseudoscience or #quackery. This gamble cud lead 2 side effects
2
Previously, XTRA MUSLI POWER herbal caps were banned by Kerala Government becoz manufacturer (Kunnath Pharma) used modern medicine (tadalafil) in the herbal product. A lot of the products with pure herbs may not be safe or effective and can B adulterated

A person messaged me asking if he could continue taking this following drug for memory boosting.

The drug contains 'Brahmi' from herb Bacopa.

Fact: Depending on #Ayurveda, which itself, #quackery, embodiment of #pseudoscience ➡️#herbal #memory booster is #fraud. #medtwitter
1
People age, som develop cognition disorders - there R identifiable risk factors, treatable&controllable.

Cognition disorders➡️bit.ly/2KnXZ25 - which of these are prevented by Bacopa? Actually none

Let us see 2 large metanalyses/systematic reviews on Bacopa extracts
2
A - pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24252493/
Result: some potential, nothing definite because it is never compared with a standard drug. I dont know Y complementary and alternative medicines R always compared with placebo when there are other better standards 2 compare them with! #livertwitter

Dr.Thakur, this is a huge issue. Big industry. Powerful lobby. They crush critique wit money power. I hav experienced it first hand.

Here is my story.

Last year March, I published this article based on my experience wit a patient who died after consuming herbalife products
2/
It went viral on @Twitter
This caught eye of the big company who then proceeded to email me directly regarding my study, asking for proof. I said all my data was in the paper (samples sourced samples frm Amazon from an 'associate seller' 4 analysis)
3/
They sent a direct letter (written by a prominent professor at Univ of Guelph, Canada / who works with the company) to the publisher #elsevier outlining 'problems' with my study, asking 4 'retraction'. The publisher suggested we provide a rebuttal - which we did, 24 page long.

Hey @FitTuber. U R advising #quackery to your poor little followers.
While selecting these pills, UR main criteria was how common the issue is faced in day to day life, how straightforward it’s #Ayurvedic solution is & safety medicine for all body types.
Let me correct U
1/
Criteria for selecting a drug for use in a medical condition is basically two things only
➡️efficacy or ability to produce a desired or intended result
➡️safety. Let me explain this term 4 U: "the condition of being protected from or unlikely to cause danger, risk, or injury" 2/
U hav extensively studied all scriptures, spoken 2 #Ayurveda experts (creamy-layer of #pseudoscience), modern docs! (plz name them in description, becoz they hav failed themselves, U, the community as whole - or did U just use that term to show credibility to UR stupid post?) 3/

#Ayurveda 2 prevent surgical site infections. Is this the #future? Looks good. But it's smoke & mirrors. How did this start? A team of scientific practitioners (including #orthopedic #surgeon below) performed worlds 1st surgery(prostate)wit only #herbals without antibiotics. 1/
4 yrs back this was published in a newspaper. Yes. The same 'scientific newspaper' deal that ruined real #COVID19 public awareness.
m.timesofindia.com/city/meerut/In…
The authors of 'study' gave 10 days of giloy, guduchi and 'anti infective herbs', & performed surgery in an elderly man 2/
What happened then? Voila! There was no infection and the authors claimed that herbs prevented surgical site infection! This happened after consulting top brains in Ayurveda in the country.
Again this happened in 2016. Thats close to 5 years back. Fast forward. 3/
