Hello & welcome to another daily thread on Day 268 of #Russia's full invasion of #Ukraine, although the war can be traced back almost 9 years to early 2014.
Plenty of news yesterday, if you missed something take a scroll through Thursday's news feed here
Let me start with an update on this story from last night
I've traced the original to vanek_nikolaev's TG channel and now had it confirmed #Chaplynka was hit again, so this is likely genuine, multiple explosions in #Kherson region, just 16km from #Crimea
#Ukraine Presidential Adviser Oleksiy Arestovych says the west is so afraid of escalating things with #Russia they are effectively finding excuses to water-down the Terrorist State's wrongdoings.
A new sculpture "Hands Of Life" is unveiled in #Kozov
The artist is Vyacheslav Emelianenko from #Kharkiv. He sheltered in the town in the early days of the war and this is his way of saying thanks.
Note the viburnum tree🇺🇦
I've just seen this video on the page of a #Ukraine official. It's supposedly a Belarusian being beaten - with the video found on the phone of an occupier in #Kherson who fled.
Personally I'm sceptical - it's likely staged.
One of #Russia's spies has defected to #Estonia, embarrassing the Kremlin.
Nothing new in the UK Intel update today. But there is a reminder that #Russia seems to accept it's likely to lose more ground with defensive lines well behind the current front line in #Ukraine
Including the strike on #Dzhankoi in #Crimea a couple of days ago and last night's hit on #Chaplynka, the armed forces of #Ukraine claim to have hit 11 of #Russia's bases in just four days.
Collaborator in occupied part of #Kherson region Ekaterina Gubareva "does not fulfill her duties, does not participate in the work of the government" said spokesman.
This cannot be verified yet, but Russians have been gaining ground slowly in this area. Opitne is just 5km from #Avdiivka, held by #Ukraine and 5km from the outskirts of occupied #Donetsk city.
#Turkiye says it has completed onshore + underwater pipe-laying for the Sakarya gas project in the Black Sea.
#Turkey expects the project to create a gas centre will start early next year.
Sanctioned propagandist/spokeswoman for #Russia's Foreign Ministry accuses @OSCE of spying!
Mariya Zakharova says OSCE's Special Monitoring Mission to #Ukraine was "collecting sensitive data for Western intelligence"
RU normally invents stuff like this as a diversion🤔
#Finland has seized three planes belonging to Russians.
The Finnish company which operated them refused to provide passenger information.
#Russia has been caught hiding military vehicles at a hospital in occupied #Ukraine.
This video was shot in the village of Mykhailivka in #Zaporizhzhia, around 50km north of #Melitopol'. Locals say a variety of vehicles stay there, some under the maternity wards
Football legend @jksheva7 has quit #Ukraine's National Olympic Committee.
There's been a huge adverse reaction to the news that Hryhoriy Surkis + Nestor Shufrych, former MPs for the pro-Russia party, were invited on to the committee.
Shevchenko put this on Facebook:
The latest revolt from mobilised Russians has come from guys from #Tomsk.
They were told they would be territorial defence but now realise they will be cannon fodder and without any equipment either!
Earlier I wrote about @jksheva7 Andriy Shevchenko's decision to quit #Ukraine's National Olympic Committee in protest at two former pro-Russian MPs joining the committee.
Chechen "soldiers" stand accused of murdering an entire family in Occupied #Zaporizhzhia
Telegram channel UAonlii reports that #Russia's troops molested Nataliia Darmobed. When her husband Aleksandr try to intervene the invaders shot the couple and their young sons.
Unverified

The first train from #Ukraine's capital heading for #Kherson since February, has just departed #Kyiv.
The southern city was liberated exactly a week ago.
There's another reported case of "friendly fire" among the invaders, although it appears the Chechens and newly mobilised Russians are far from friends.
Unconfirmed reports tell of shots being fired between the groups in #Makiivka in #Donetsk region. 3 were injured.
Day 1194 of Putin's war, though let's remember the initial invasion came 11 years ago.
Since February 2014, not once have western sanctions or military support come close to being enough to restore justice and defeat evil.
Welcome to THE daily 🇺🇦 thread for Sunday 1 June
A new day, a new season. Summer officially started, but nothing is likely to change just yet.
Y'day's thread had some great stories, but everything paled into insignificance when justy before midnight came news of a disaster in Russia's Bryansk region:
Another night of no sleep yet - dramatic action in Moscow.
Time to start another daily thread covering everything to do with Putin's disastrous 'operation' in Ukraine.
It's 5am in Russia and Ukraine, on Day 1190 of the war.
Let's begin...
I've still NEVER missed even one day since the start of Russia's full invasion.
But yesterday's thread ended up being one of the most lively. Another near 50-post story of the day, and if you like seeing "bavovna" in Russia, go right through to the end!
Good morning on Day 1176 of the war in Europe.
In my opinion, Ukraine should have won this war in 2022/23.
Effective leadership is based on good, decisive decisions. Sadly, the allies have never been decisive, preferring dithering and half measures.
Welcome to my daily thread:
What I mean by dithering is endless internal political battles in most countries to give adequate weapons. Scholz (Taurus), Biden (everything) the most obvious examples, though Joe was hampered by Congress and is way better than now
But it's always enough to survive, not to win

The start of a new week and simultaneously almost the end of 167 weeks of Russia's attempt to liberate Ukraine from its leader and remove the country from maps.
It's Day 1167 of Putin's full invasion. Welcome to Monday's daily thread.
First the link back to Sunday's thread for those who were busy y'day
It started with Ukraine counting the cost of yet more strikes on civilians and infrastructure but there were more strategic hits on Russia during the day, incl a night attack on Moscow.
