my dominant hand is completely numb from an injection, but i just called my representative to oppose HR 620 - the ADA reform act of 2017

.@JudgeTedPoe introduced the bill, which aims to place to burden of accessibility on disabled humans instead of businesses

this disgusting bill posits that even though the ADA has existed for nearly THREE DECADES, businesses have it too tough to comply

the bill makes it so that businesses can slide by without making genuine changes to accessibility

it removes incentives for businesses to make change. it means businesses can take YEARS to comply with accessibility law

HR 620 weakens the ADA and undermines the purpose of the law. it is a direct violation of disabled americans' rights

if you consider yourself to be part of #TheResistance, you NEED to call you representative. right now. not later.

this reform act is yet another attempt to force disabled americans out of regular society

okay, so you're nervous about calling your rep - that's fair. here's what i said when i called:

"hi. i'm calling to ask my rep vehemently oppose HR 620, the ADA edu & reform act of 2017...

" HR 620 undermines the ADA and strips disabled americans of the tenuous rights they have worked tirelessly to earn."

then i gave my name and my zip code. the whole call took one minute exactly - nearly painless & worth it to protect my rights

okay, so you've got the bill, you've got talking points, you've got a script, and you've got a way to find your reps. NO EXCUSES LEFT

stop letting disability rights fall by the wayside. stop ignoring us. stop excluding us. start calling to protect us.
