I hear people talking about deserting the Democratic Party because of what @TomPerez and Bernie Sanders are doing. Not me. #Thread

I'm a Democrat, and will be for life. Why? Because the DNC isn't the Democratic Party - WE ARE. We are the voters.

WE - Democrats - are the ones who will choose what we stand for, not the people in charge of some part of the party apparatus.

We stand for ALL Americans - not just the white working class. Not just the richest few. Not just the donors. WE ARE THE PARTY.

Our legacy as Democrats is that of civil rights, labor rights, women's rights, and much more. A few idiots at the top cannot change that.

Democrats are the party of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, NOT Bernie Sanders, and we reminded him of that in the primaries. Resoundingly.

So yeah, I'm a Democrat. I'll continue to vote for good candidates, good platforms, and good people. I will not abandon US.

I don't give a flying fuck what Perez and Sanders and those morons are up to - THEY ARE NOT THE PARTY.

WE ARE.

And I will not abandon the party that has done so much good in this country - the only SANE major party in existence. That's suicide.

I will fight those who would tear us apart, from within or without. We are the party of ALL Americans, and I will not give up the fight.

And I sure as hell will NOT abandon the only party that cares about the rights of POC, women, the disabled, LGBTQ+ and others....

We have exactly two choices in major elections, like it or not, and I will not let the party of Donald J. Trump stand unopposed.

Do whatever you wish, but I will fight to my dying breath to keep the Democratic Party strong, because it is our only real hope.

One last comment: Those deserting the Democratic Party are the ones centering Bernie and WWC instead of the base. Perez, I'm looking at YOU.
