OK. I'll surrender first, and then make excuses/back out slightly.

Beyond that...
I'm pretty sure I could get to 50, maybe 60, but after these it's increasingly contentious. e.g. 10cc. OTOH, there are some I'm not counting that probably would fit but I don't listen to them. Leonard Cohen, e.g.
And some other "greats" that I could also do without -- Aja, Animals.

Also I could have gone to jazz but I thought that was cheating.
On that first point: e.g. there are a couple of Johnny Cash albums. Don't know either. Can't really include them without breaking a sweat.

Also: Agree that's a lot of dudes. That's mostly 1977, not my choices.

Hate to do it but with Rudy's "clarification" on Comey I'm afraid it's time for a dreaded THREAD about obstruction of justice.
Giuliani's defense of Trump firing Comey is that "It is undisputed that the President's dismissal of former Director Comey...was clearly within his Article II power." Correct -- but that's the problem!!!!
The whole reason that Obstruction of Justice is such a big deal *when the president does it* is because presidents have so many lawful powers they can do in pursuit of unlawfully preventing justice from being done.

What do you want if you're an MC? Positive publicity is pretty high on that list. For GOP MCs, that means positive publicity within the Republican-aligned media. (2/)
It's not only good for re-election (at least, re-nomination, which we know they're obsessed with), but becoming a Fox News star sets up an MC for a post-House career. (3/)

I did something similar to this 5 years ago, in anticipation of EC & @theroots' Wise Up Ghost LP, on tumblr.

(You can still find all those posts if you look, although a lot of the YouTube links etc are now dead ends. It was 40 Days Of EC then, so for 2018 I'm upping it to 45.)
Mostly I will be going chronologically from the early years right up to the present, but it feels right to start out with Costello's 2002 song, "45."

I keep thinking back to a discussion a few months on reddit about THE BELGARIAD. Several comments were made about it being cliche and pedestrian, and someone said, “Yeah, it’s a fine story, but it’s never going to be a classic.”
And all I could think to respond was, “It’s over thirty years later and we’re still talking about it. How is that NOT ‘a classic’?
But that got me thinking- I cite THE BELGARIAD (and THE MALLOREON, its sequel series) as one of my influential works. But what is that influence? I know I’ve read the whole series several times. My copies of the books are in terrible shape.

BREAKING (thread). Yesterday was the date for RSI/CIG to file their response to the devastating lawsuit Crytek filed against them.

Instead, Skadden, no doubt acting on new info, filed an amendment, thus giving them an additional 14 days to Jan 17th.

There were two key parts to the amendment which I think Skadden felt were pertinent enough to give them an additional 14 days to sweat it out, this despite their filing a fast track case.

1) their generous sprinkling of "intentionally" in key parts of the complaint.
2) The allegation that Ortwin had a conflict of interest which he never resolved while negotiating the terms of the GLA obo Crytek and RSI/CIG

This wasn't removed, but changed. As I mentioned in my prior thread, this is probably due to their being a waiver of sorts.

Guys like @wtfosaurus, @BoredGamerUK, @TheAstroPub, @Twerk17Gaming are literally the Fox News equivalent of Star Citizen broadcasters. But worse because they're "gamers"
These are some of the guys who, for years, have helped promote CIG/RSI message of not only lying to and misleading backers, but also engaging in various marketing & propaganda activities

1/ Not only did Prince appear without counsel—though he could be charged with a crime for any lie he told—he told the House Intel Committee he had no plans to *hire* an attorney. In the situation he's in—and given who he is—that statement is actually chilling. I'll tell you why.
2/ It suggests he may expect a pardon for any misconduct; or is so confident the GOP won't make him answer any questions he doesn't want to that he sees no risk of self-incrimination; or that he's that confident in his skills as a liar; or thinks his misdeeds can't be uncovered.
