The House can just pass the Senate version. Everyone so far is publicly saying they'll go to conference, but I've thought all along Rs will avoid another vote and extra time on a deeply unpopular bill if they can. 3/
The House currently has a vote scheduled Monday night on a "motion to instruct" (telling Conference Committee members what to do). Could easily become a vote on the Senate bill if the votes are there. I'd expect Ryan to quietly count the votes this weekend to feel it out. 4/
This was a partisan process from the start, jammed through the Senate without a single hearing on the bill. Bill text that changed until an hour or so before the final vote, with text handwritten in the margins. 5/
If Republicans wanted to give the middle class a tax cut, they could have given the middle class a tax cut. Instead, they gave a huge tax cut to the rich and corporations, and crossed their fingers it might accidentally help some others too. 6/
Along the way, they ignored non-partisan analysis after non-partisan analysis showing their scam would mostly help those at the top, and that their magic tax cuts wouldn't come close to "paying for themselves." They passed it anyway. 7/
Collins had concerns about the mandate repeal. Voted yes.
Flake had concerns about the deficit. Voted yes.
McCain had concerns about process. Voted yes.
