2/ One PowerPoint, from July 2017, appears to have been inadvertently posted online. Here’s how Jeff Shoaf, the group’s longtime chief lobbyist in Washington, described the current administration 👇 
3/ Asked about the slide, a spokesman for the group told us: “Since so many of our members are family owned small businesses,” the language in the slide is “a way that makes it relatable to them. One of our jobs is to explain to our members what is happening in Washington.”
4/ The group is concerned that the disorder of the Trump administration will create “electoral hope” for Democrats.
5/ The presentation includes an image of a dumpster fire in a section about Trump’s legislative agenda.
6/ And yet, despite the criticisms, the presentation makes it clear that the AGC views Trump as a godsend for their agenda of rolling back environmental and labor regulations. Here’s why 👇
7/ The “Blacklisting” rule refers to Pres. Obama’s executive order that required companies bidding on federal contracts to disclose labor law violations. That rule has been repealed by the Trump administration.
8/ The “Volks rule” helped enforce requirements that employers keep records of injuries and illnesses. It’s also been repealed.
9/ The silica regulation lowers the amount of silica dust that construction workers can be exposed to on the job (inhaling silica can cause cancer and other diseases). The rule was delayed, but has since gone into effect.
10/ The “GHG” rule is a greenhouse gas regulation. The Trump administration delayed the rule’s implementation, but has since started the process of repealing it entirely.
