2/ Keep in mind that Russia is one of America's three biggest aluminum importers, so Trump's surprise announcement of a tariff on aluminum hurts Rusal right after Deripaska decides to cash in. See my pinned thread for more on this. A few too many of the players here are familiar.
3/ Per Reuters, Rusal lost 3.3% in share price after the surprise announcement of an aluminum tariff by Trump. It notes Oleg Deripaska, Manafort's tie to the Russians, runs the company. But it fails to note he announced he's cashing out... just a week ago. reuters.com/article/us-usa…
