Earlier in the year, I noticed that the group was almost 10, so I said to @brown_note & @kearnsey that we should do something special. With a refreshing lack of red tape, @DarylAntony let us use his offices as the venue…and we were cooking.
Craig came up with the idea for the schedule, inviting people who had led a meetup at one point in its history, to do a 10 min talk. Roughly with the theme, "What I talked about in 20xx, and he's what I know about it now." The brief was interpreted widely!

Myth 1: "Ruby has existed for like 20 years. If it were a good idea someone would have done it already."
Reality: Not that many people actually work on Ruby profilers! Those people have different priorities and interests than me!
Myth 2: To build innovative software you have to already be an expert
Reality: Doing a survey of how all existing Ruby/Python profilers worked helped me a LOT to understand the current state of the art and what I could contribute
