#Thread on how a generation/generations of Syrian have been brain washed.
A few years ago I was working with Syrian refugees and I realised that
on of the strategical path to stop extremism is to make sure Syrian refugees are in safe hands/lands as they get exploited by many.1/1

In Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey and in some camps in Iraqi Kurdistan young Syrian girls are looked and used as sex slaves. This has reached a new level in Turkey and Syrian teenage girls get sold like in territories held by ISIS. 1/2

This has resulted in more hatred towards Assad and Iran as well as Europeans for the deal they signed with Turkey. Furthermore, Syrian refugees in Turkey are the first victims of more radical Islamism ideology implemented by current government in charge. 1/3

While young girls get exploited by men and business mens,young men are brain washed by Jihadi groups mostly in Turkey and sometimes in Iraqi Kurdistan.
I met Khatab Rashid(2016)a Syrian refugee when he was only 12.He was very smart,hopeful,wanted to go to uni and be a teacher.1/4

However, a few weeks ago he sent me a message, a sentence
ّwhich was, ' The ink of hope has dried up'.
When I asked him what is happening and how he is doing, he sent me these photos claiming that he was in #Afrin.

I recognised the fat man in the photos. His name is Yousef Ali Meryamini. Refugees were claiming that he is recruiting for ISIS. He got arrested in Turkey accused of being a member of ISIS. However, he appears to be free now and he is in #Syria again(in Afrin). 1/6

The other guy in the photo is well known amongst refugees from Deir ez-Zor. His name is Wasim Ali. These photos may help you to know who he is. The second photo is taken in Afrin on March 13th (proof available). 1/7

Sunni extremism as a reaction to Shia extremism and the only way to fight totalitarian regimes has become a norm and tackling terrorism without democratisation in the Middle East is impossible. The hope that FSA can bring freedom is gone and Jihadi groups are more attractive. 1/8

ISIS and Al-Qaeda members running their operations in Syria under different groups in order to keep their ranks united and avoid clashes with anti ISIS and Al-Qaeda coalition. Furthermore, brain washing process continues in refugee camps using European and UN budget. 1/9

International community is providing refugees with shelter and food but hostile parties are feeding refugees' brain. This isn't only the case in the Middle East but in the West as well. Lack of proper integration strategy in some of the western countries may blow back soon. 1/10

Young Iraqi Kurds( in Iraqi Kurdistan as well as in Europe) are also becoming radicalised by Islamist groups. Iraqi Kurds have lost their hope in KRG and lack of an opposition -strong enough to galvanise the anger for more democracy- helps Islamist groups to be attractive.1/11

US and EU shouldn't only pump money in Iraqi Kurdistan.Paying salaries to Peshmargas in Iraqi Kurdistan(More than $365m)instead of the KRG is not enough neither a wise policy. US-EU should take more messieurs in order to make sure failure in investment won't be the case.1/12
