*** THREAD ***

If you're wondering why President @realDonaldTrump is so busy spinning a web of even bigger lies, lies that anyone can see are nonsense, and Republicans are releasing damaging information to him but living in opposite land, let me explain.

#TheResistance #AMjoy
Let's start with the awful truth.

Trump and his shameful Republican defenders are using a deliberate technique called "The Big Lie" invented by Hitler.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_lie
Ivanka Trump famously said that Donald had a copy of Hitler's speeches.

If you think that's far fetched, just remember. He ran a white supremacist housing empire...

businessinsider.com/donald-trumps-…
Until the Federal government personal sued Fred Trump and his son Donald.

Their response, from infamous mob lawyer and McCarthyism enabler Roy Cohn?

They filed a frivolous lawsuit against the government.

See how that works?

Lawsuit as PR.

huffingtonpost.com/entry/federal-…
So.

Why expose damaging documents now and lie like hell about them?

"Neutral observers" keep getting snowed by giving credence to less because they don't know the history of "The Big Lie"

So, Trump is trying to poison the jury pool by arguing his case to public opinion.
O"Conservative media" aka the propagandists who give lies 💯 credence, often pushing them, help Trump by trying to influence reality based reporters. Conservative media criticisms of bias serve to induce doubt in so-called neutral observers activating the Dunning-Kruger effect
Idiots think they are 100% competent, but are incapable of evaluating their shortcomings.

Smart people, experts, are only 80% confident.

Conservative media lies and criticism seek to fill that 20% with their doubts, hoping to curtail the authority of facts in neutral experts.
I'm not saying that Trump's lawyer's or the President site around with this chart turning how they can Dunning-Kruger smart people into submission.

I'm just describing the effect.
If you've ever been in litigation as the plaintiff against a party - like @CityofMiami - whose sole desire is to break the law & get away with it you'll recognize the technique.

Lawyers deploy the big lie all the time in hopes of confusing neutral observers to gain tactical wins
A tactical won doesn't seem like much, but the big liar will trumpet that glorious day like they ended World War II.

In their outlook two things count:

1) trying to achieve a string of tactical victories until an opponent caves.

2) repetition of the lies, until they spread.
Think about the GOP and Trump's big string of tactical "victories," all of which are strategic duds:

- release the Nunes Memo
- Criminal referral of Steele
- Comey Memos subpoenaed
- House Intel ends investigating

Did any of that change the #TrumpRussia trajectory like...
A single raid on Michael Cohen?

Nope!

But it's all Trump and the GOP have got.

Like playing Texas holdem poker with nothing but a 2 and 3 in the hole, while the Community cards are all faces.

So the bluffing continues by continually raising the stakes.
In a commercial transaction, one can easily get away with that behavior, because eventually, business people conclude that a transaction's opportunity cost isn't worth the trouble.

But a Special Counsel investigation had no such pressures or motives.

So this posturing is all...
Aimed at swaying prospective jurors in two ways:

1) induce pro-Trump bias

2) anyone who doesn't believe the hype, Trump's going to claim is tainted by news media coverage.

Unfortunately, he hadn't planned on investigators being in the 21st century, and his subordinates too...
A big tip off to Trump's blind spot about technology compromising his gang is the government's unchallenged assertion:

Attorney Michael Cohen and Donald Trump exchanged precisely ZERO emails.
In fact, what makes the #TrumpRussia affair so notable, is the extreme lengths that Jared Kushner, Erik Prince, and others went to, to create a back channel of secret, in person comms with the Russians.
Let's just examine the damaging effect of a SINGLE email and how much spin it takes to try and lessen the damage.

Felix Sater's email to Michael Cohen saying that he'll get Putin behind Trump in the election if they do his Moscow Trump Tower deal.

nytimes.com/2017/08/28/us/…
Felix Sater is a man who is no stranger to the courtroom.

He was convicted of a violent crime in the early 1990s.

Convicted of a massive racketeering scam in the later 1990s.

Partner with Trump via Bayrock who's been in court most of the 2010s.
I asked Sater's lawyer Robert S. Wolf - the FIRST American lawyer permitted into a Russian prison for an actual case - to explain to me what I believe is his key role in the narrative of DNC's racketeering lawsuit.
Naturally, the attorney lied.

1) Is Sater key? He's mentioned in the first 6 paragraphs during the overview. Seems important.

2) My statement false? Indeterminate at best.

3) "per se defamatory" to claim a convicted racketeer is involved in another racket?
4) A Defamation claim requires evidence of both malice from the author and financial damages.

You can't even call something defamatory until a court rules it so.

But that's how you scramble up the big lie to sway a neutral observer to try to sway their 20% doubt to your side.
Sater isn's a defendant in the Trump Russia racket, yet, but his role as a close friend of Michael Cohen seems most important, alongside his role in the Trump SoHo racket

thesternfacts.com/exclusive-newl…
But Sater is a man well versed in lying to neutral observers.

thesternfacts.com/busted-felix-s…
Anyhow.

The Trump gang wouldn't do all this lying of it had zero impact.

Even the most neutral observer is filled with a substantial percentage of doubt in their opinions, and they're determined to fill that doubt with lies.

Big lies.

The best lies.

All the best lies.
