His slumber has devastating consequences. For it leaves him blind to the way things really are. And it leaves him deaf to the words he needs to hear.
For his entire adult life, he will bump into walls, without seeing them. He will fall into pits without recognizing them.

He will become a petri dish for emotional turmoil. He will develop fears that he will forever run from. He will develop anger that tears apart his physiology. He will become envious, hopeful, and sorrowful.
He will scour the world looking for Peace
But he will not find it

The reason that he will not find it is because he has not become Awake enough to recognize what Peace truly is
As a result, the thing he calls peace is nothing but a moment's respite. A lunch break from the turmoil that has become his life
